Will we be using a Full Back next year? If not, do we move our Full Backs to TE or LB?

usually, people who play that position are kind of hybrids and play both fullback and tight end

This.

Think of a guy like David Paulson at Oregon. Really, we'll probably be using more of an H-back type player, who can line up next to the QB and the RB in the shotgun, line up as a tight end, or if need be, line up as a slot receiver.

Do we even have a FB on our roster anymore? King was listed as an H-back, TE and Bartholomew graduated.

The answer is (trumpet fanfare) NOBODY knows cause CBJ hasn't even worked with his team on what we have and how our players fit what he has in mind.

Suggestion (piano to tune of "Beats There A Heart So True") Sit back, wait and see what we will see what BJ has to show us.

shouldnt this question have an answer long before CBJ actually works with the team?

Yes and no. OP is getting answers to the question, yes. but we know nothing, nor does CBJ because as he said he's focused on recruiting (and networking) so hasn't evaluated his new team yet.

FB's are extinct
What a shame. Back in the Vols' single-wing glory days, we used to recruit FBs by the dozens. They could play any position on Neyland's teams except tailback and wingback. They made fantastic pulling guards. For any of Neyland's positions, they had good size; they were athletic; and they had good speed. I really miss those days. How sad to be old with mediocrity.

Let's wait until next year to see how our offense performs.......as of right now, we have no offense or defense.......it's going to be a long winter/spring for the optimistic Vol fan......

Jones is a single-back guy, almost always out of the shotgun. He uses TEs as blockers, and no FB. And from the way they are recruiting so far, they are trying to get more TEs, which leads me to believe that King is going to move back to defense.

Exactly. I like a gritty All-Joe-Team fullback, but you have to let them carry the ball now and then. Otherwise, it's like a Don Devoe basketball team where 1 out of 5 players never shoots the ball. Makes it that much simpler for the opposing D.

Fugate was a fullback before he switched to LB last year. He still has a year of eligibility left.
