John Kerry Says Voter Anger at Washington Is Hypocritical - Washington Whispers (usnews.com)

"I think there's a comprehension gap," said Kerry. His point: While people may not be feeling the benefits of the bailouts and healthcare reform yet, Congress has been working with Obama to right the economic ship. Still, he sounded sympathetic to those kicked around by the economy. "There's a sense of some things unraveling" to them, said Kerry.
But he said that the D.C.-directed attacks are hypocritical, since many of those attacking Washington spending presumably want to keep their Social Security and Medicare and want Washington to play a big role in the Gulf Oil cleanup. "There's a huge contradiction on a daily basis," he said.
Maybe, he concluded, the Democrats should change their communications strategy "to better sell what we've done."

Really? How hard it is to understand 25 trillion in debt?

that's the obama mantra now. he said the only thing he regrets about his administration is not communicating properly his policies with the american people. translation: americans are all idiots. it's an amazingly condesending statement to say that anyone who disagrees with you clearly just doesn't understand the issue.

the LA times recently had a book review of the new obama book. they lauded the author for being unbaised because he openly critisized obama for not properly connecting with the american people and explaining his policies properly.

You know, the more I think about it. Who doesn't want massive gov't take over/bailout of companies/healthcare/unions?

Eff that. The dumbass populace theory is the way we justify socialism and a cloak behind which those espousing expansion of our entitlement state hide behind.

I'll argue that our entitlement state created the dumbass populace.

I still think a person is generally smarter, people, however, are complete idiots.

Not me. Statistically, half of the populace is below the median intelligence level nad most are middlin'.

I think it was George Carlin who said think about how dumb the average person is, and half the population is dumber than that.

...gotta love that kind of wisdom.

Same.

I think you're equating laziness or worthlessness with intelligence. Both of those have increased dramatically.

Yeah, median is median. It isn't going to shift all that much.

The government should just take over our opinions. Problem solved.

Don't think they wouldn't like to do just that, and control of information goes a long way toward doing that.

blame the populace - way to go Kerry!

John jihad Kerry say the obama administration is doing a 'shipshape' job of running the country.

I guess that is true if you think swift boating the American economy is a good thing.

Gotta love Carlin!

At one time Carlin and Flip Wilson formed a partnership.

A friend of mine was sitting in Carlin's office one day and Flip came in and took about 5 grand out of their slush fund they kept in a cigar box in George's desk.

Flip liked to play the ponies.

George asked: "whatcha' doin'?"

"I'm going to the track."

"Whatcha' gonna do if you lose?"

"Well the money will be gone."

"Whatcha' gonna do if you win?"

"I'm gonna keep it."

Carlin came out with one of the funniest lines ever to translate the expression; "Well f... me running."

You have to give Frank Zappa some kudos.

He said; "The scientists all agree that the basic building block of the univers is hydrogen...... well the scientists are all wrong, the basic building block of the universe is stupidity."

Intelligence research shows the population is generally getting smarter (or at least scoring better on IQ tests). There are many theories as to why but the data is pretty conclusive that scores are and have been improving (see "Flynn Effect").
