"It can't be good," Rivals.com nation editor Jamie Newberg said of Thursday's arrests. "Richardson is a South Florida kid, and that's where Tennessee has concentrated a lot of its efforts. They already have five or six commitments from the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area for this next class. Short-term, it's hard to say what this will mean. In the long term, I imagine this will not help their reputation in south Florida."

So knowing the coach or program had nothing to do with those 3 making a stupid choice, how would anyone blame the program for this? Kiff will make the decision that he sees fit but I don't think recruiting will be affected..

He doesn't know. He's just speculating like everyone else in the media. All schools have arrests and in the long-term it almost never effects recruiting.

I don't see what Nuke being a So Fla kid has anything to do with recruiting in So Fla. If anything it is us that is less likely to recruit any of the thugs from the Muck again.

It doesn't have anything to do with it.

Last year the staff simply didn't have the time to built quality relationships so they had to take any good prospect they could get.

From here on out they will be able to be a lot more selective and picky with the type of player they bring in. It's already happening this year.

Like you said, if anything it will cause out staff to back off players like this.

Pahokee will all but disappear in the next few years. US Sugar is closing its doors and that is only big employer in Pahokee.

What a idiot! Did all the arrest affect the Canes, Gators and Noles???? No, they keep getting top recruits and have won NC. That is a stupid statements from a guy who considers himself a recruiting insider. Did the canes stop getting recruits after Ray Lewis was involved in a murder-stabbing or after they had a murder on campus-Bryan Pata couple of years ago? What about the Gators 23 arrest-They are all still recruiting and getting South Florida kids!!

Said it another thread. Happening once isn't going to affect recruiting at all. You have to worry about how parents view your program when it becomes a pattern.

Of course when you win the media loves to look past arrests (i.e. Florida). However, THIS particular case isn't your common occurrence that football players get in trouble with the law for.

I'm originally from Clewiston and my dad worked for US Sugar for 30 years and its closing won't have much of an impact on Pahokee b/c they have very few if any operations there anymore. They closed their only other mill, which was located in Pahokee, 3 years ago or so. Belle Glade and Pahokee are predominantly Florida Crystals (Fanjul family) operations.

It did hurt Miami in the short term. In came Randy Shannon zero tolerance and now they are doing well again. This want hurt us either if we show zero tolerance. Also Ray Lewis was already in the NFL when that happened but I see your point.
