Someone suggested that the Athletic Department forfeit the remaining games, refund the money for the two home games, save the team from further humiliation and the fans from further embarrassment.

I am into my sixth decade of following the VOLS. Surely things are not THIS bad or are they?

:hi: Dear Friends:

I will never agree to or even consider forfeiture. :realmad: We are the Volunteers. We will walk on the field and take and deliver our licks. Our heritage on the grid-iron is a proud one and we must represent that heritage. We must Pound the Rock and we must show the pride that makes us all Vols.

Forfeiture is cowardice and we must never disgrace the Orange and White colors that all of us wear and hold dear. Any thought of cowardice and weakness before any opponent is wholely unacceptable. Former players, students and fans alike will never tolerate or consider such degrading and humilating thoughts. We are the Volunteers and don't let anyone think otherwise.

It's time for the players to take names and kick asses. Gut check time is here. Hopefully, any player who fails to perform to his potential will receive the wrath of his team. If necessary, a little time out behind the toolshed might be in order. We can't allow players on our team who think the game is about them individually. The team is and must be a unit solely dedicated to winning for the Big Orange. Stars or debutantes aren't needed inside Neyland Stadium. We must play for the good of the team not for individuals.

We are the Volunteers. We must demand and deserve respect on the field of honor.

Pound the Rock and Run to Victory

No Sir, they are not. I am in my 5th decade of following the Vols myself and many of the Vol Nation are simply spoiled. We have a proud history and tradition but along the way, there have been a FEW down times (Check with the Bammers about down times!) Remember Ole Miss and Archie Who and 38-0? Remember North Texas State and Rutgers and Duke? Maybe this will turn over some seats at Neyland for those of us who love the Orange through thick AND thin.

Just last year Bama was wondering how much time to give Shula before they start looking AGAIN. Randy is a start. I'm not real comfortable with Phil calling the offense. I don't think that helps.

Let's review. Croyle is gone after this year as well as most of ya'lls defense. Get us up to speed on how much of the offense will be back next year and then we'll know if you are back or not.
