While Arian has to have a good season, we absolutely need a solid back up to rest him with no drop in
production. We also have to have Erik Ainge return to or exceed his freshman performance and we
need the WRs to block downfield and catch long passes on the run and get some yards after the catch. Our
OL is young but they've slimmed down some and I think they'll be more productive than people think.
Obviously, we need some healthy people in all positions for depth. There's a lot that has to happen, and
Arian is only a part of it, but I do believe we'll have a more balanced offense compared to last. Our
passing will become a threat, thus opening up the run and vice versa. Plus, we will utilize our TE which
is something we didn't do last year. Its a lot to clean up, but I'm a believer.

Nice assessment fostermom. I have to admit the OL worries me a bit. It seems like every year we hear about how good they are and every year they seem to underperform expectations (or maybe they just get a lot of the blame for offensive issues). They are a young group for the most part but maybe this will be their year since the expectations are not as high. :D

I know from your posts that you are impressed with Trooper as a coach. Based on what you know about him what impact do you see him having on the WR's? You think those guys can finally play like we know they are capable?

I think his impact will be felt and I think it will be apparent quickly. If some of the older guys don't conform, they'll be replaced by the ones who want to play. There are a lot of talented receivers and they're very athletic, but Troop is the kind of man who can challenge them, get in their ass and keep them putting out the best on the field. He has a way of making those guys WANT to play for him and he accepts nothing less than thier best. He will make dramatic improvements in their downfield blocking and you'll see them stretching out for more balls. I don't know who's going to get on the field, but they'll all be busting their butts to be the one. That will help the QB situation because Ainge's confidence is everything. It'll help the RB situation because if the passing game is a threat, we won't have to try to run with 9 men stacked in the box. Balanced offense is what is going to be the
biggest change. We're going to utilize more of our offensive weapons. IMO.

What makes the above funnier is that your signature has a pic of Adam Dunn with the caption, Adam Dunn aka "The Donkey"

Or maybe it is just me...... :blush2:
