Do you think that it is possible that we could have a OSU vs. Michigan match-up in the BCS title game? They are both leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the teams in the BCS. If they are both undefeated when they play and it is a very very close game that is decided at the end could they both remain 1 and 2. I think that this is a very real possibility.

That would be like defacating on the national championship.

How so? If Ohio State beats Michigan in a close game, are you going to tell me that, for example, Notre Dame would be more deservng of a berth in the title game than the Wolverines?

First of all, it would be a rematch of the last game of the regular season. I would think a one-loss SEC champ would be more deserving. Notre Dame doesn't deserve to be in a BCS bowl. That will be taken care of when they play USC.

Anything's possible. But I find it hard to believe that nobody will jump the team that loses the OSU-Michigan game in the BCS standings. Especially if its the Wolverines.

ESPN claims it is possible for a rematch........due to the loser of Michigan/OSU not falling below the #2 BCS ranking.

I don't think so. As much as it sucks to say it... I gotta go with an undefeated Big East squad having the best shot.

What difference does it make when they play? If they're the two best teams, they should be in the Championship Game.

I agree. UF and FSU played each other the last game of the season, and then played each other again in the Sugar Bowl for a NC.

I don't think Ohio State and Michigan are necessarily the two best teams in the nation. I'm not arguing with their current ranking, but once one of them loses, I think there are other teams just as deserving of the #2 spot.

I can't think of any teams that I have seen that are any better or more deserving that OSU and Michigan.

I agree it would be a travesty, although probably not the worst thing that has happened to the BCS (see: Nebraska, c. 2001.)

The BCS does an excellent job of matching the best team in the country against the second best team when there are two and only two undefeated teams that are clear-cut runaway consensus picks to be the two best teams in the country.

Other than that, it has some problems.

The UF - FSU Sugar Bowl, wasn't a BCS Championship game, so that's not a good precedent.

I really don't think the loser of the Michigan-Ohio State game will make the championship game unless every other team has two losses.

Never said that the UF vs. FSU game was a BCS NC game. Someone said that OSU and Michigan shouldn't play because it would be a rematch and I was reminding them that it had happened before.

I hate to start yet another argument about schedule strength, but the Big 10 is awfully weak outside of those two. Wisconsin is the only other team that is decent and they nearly lost to Illinois today. Michigan has beaten Notre Dame and OSU has beaten Texas. I think both of those teams are good, but are not elite. In my book, Ohio State and Michigan have only beaten one good team, each.

that's the key....if Mich beat OSU...and it was close....the possibility is very real that a rematch could happen.
