I'm staying away from the Zo bashing it's pointless. What I see in this replay I'm watching is a good team offensively and average team defensively but I see a "mentally" weak team. I see a "weaker breed" from a mental standpoint. When a team possesses all the physical attributes but can mentally check out like Stokes, you won't beat the top teams on the road. I think Stokes goes on the road telling himself he's going to get in foul trouble before the game even starts and he checks out. That's my opinion. I'm curious to hear others. Thanks

What type of bread do we need to be? More of a toasted sourdough with some chewiness?

Stokes needs a big guy playing along side him so that he can play the 4 instead of trying to pretend to be a center.

I think a lot could also be remedied if we'd get an actual take charge PG on campus which we haven't seen since CJ Watson.

We have a PG, unfortunately he's coming off the bench. No offense to Barton because we need him. The freshman seem to more represent the tougher breed mentality.

CM wouldnt know what to do with one if we did. Bartons best games were his first couple. Stokes best game was his first. Outside of McRae, not one player in his tenure has improved their offensive skills and a good pg would come in and get his instincts and ability zapped.
Barton and DT could run pick and roll and make things happen for everybody else. Its basic basketball, yet we are incapable. Look at Bartons Memphis highlights and he is no semblance of that aggressive player.

So it's looking like we need to sweep the remaining non-conference games, go at least 11-7 (possibly 12-6) in conference just to make the tourny.

We will have to make hay ON THE ROAD early in conference play to build the resume enough to withstand any setbacks against the weak back half of the schedule.

I don't know guys...

Richardson and Maymon have gotten better offensively under CCM

D Thompson is a great pt guard....lost to a damned good team saturday. ..first 3 off the bench are freshman. ..not going to win all of them...wish fans could let CCM build the program, he's doing a fine job

Richardson had his left hand dribble and midrange pullup when he got here. His 3 ball has improved, but he's a long, langy and strong kid with great athletic ability that should be able to get to the ft line whenever he wants. I believe he averages fewer pts and shoots a lower % this year than last. I wouldn't consider that as improvement.
Maymon isn't better offensively. He still can't finish and has added zero moves to his skillset. No jumper. No jump hook. Just try to get fouled with his great ft rate as he flails at the bucket.

That's probably because he had surgery and was out of the game last year. He's still working his way back. Hell D.Rose came back after a year and didn't look like a world beater. Hating Zo makes it easy to point out nonsense, IMO. But hey what do I know. Stokes to me is the key and he's like a kid throwing a tantrum when he's on the road. He's still immature. He needs to stop trying to play like a finesse player and use that body for what God intended. Dunks and to bowl MF's over.

would love to hear examples of the fine job martin is doing

There are too many people showing up hoping something will change. The AD doesn't care enough about basketball to pay another buyout if people keep going to the games and buying $4.00 drinks. CCM is a defensive coach and I can't see anything impressive about his D the whole time he has been here.
