I thought yesterday that the Vols might come out a little sluggish vs Xavier and that proved to be true. I also believed that we would get the W in the end and we managed to recieve that blessing as well. We showed a lot of heart on the court and the necessary adjustments were made on the sideline to put the right group of players on the court at the same time.
We saw that there is a lot of untapped talent on our bench that could help the team heaps if they continue to improve. The Vols turned the game around all at once showing that they could get big scores and stops when they needed them the most. Im excited about seeing the bench players playing, and playing well. When coaches gain more confidence in their bench it makes for a deeper more versatile team. This will make it harder for teams to build an effective game plan vs us, as when one group is struggling another good group is there to pick up the slack. With the challenges that they have had , I believe that 8-3 is a place for us going into 2013!

It might be boring to watch but they are effective and it gets the job done as long as we get the W I don't care if we win 21-20.

I remember the Wade Houston and Kevin O'Neill days, I think 8 and 3 is awesome anyway you get it. Isiah, good job on the SportSource this morning.

I was there, 1st time to see a bball game in TBA, and it was great. Although shootouts are fun, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the game. My cousin from Cincy met me there, huge Xavier fan, and he thought TBA was awesome.

These Vols are painful to watch and aren't going very far in the tourney sans Maymon. One and Done may be the best we can hope for this season, but next year's version may be a little more confidence-inspiring.

Then again, a lot depends on the luck of the draw.
Only painful if you don't like defensive ball.

It doesn't hurt to score every now and then. My personal take being and old vol that sat in Stokely watching the Ernie/Bernie show is that Cuonzo is on the right track. The last coach who preached this kind of defense was Kevin O'neil. I liked him. The difference is Cuonzo appears to be wanting the team to use the good defense to create turnovers and points off of turnovers. However, I'm not impressed with his offense sets. Too much standing around which forces our players having to go one on one. Where is the motion offense? Go Vols!!

Thanks for that feedback! I always wonder if am getting my point across to the viewers.
