No SEC? Is that a contract thing?

Good, I don't want to watch any of our games on the shady channel anyway. The sound is horrible, the picture is bad and the announcers are average at best.

SEC is too good for ABC.

Yes, the SEC will continue with CBS as primary carrier, followed by ESPN, and then JPsports chooses.

I've not seen it confirmed on the web anywhere, but I read where UT/Cal will be opposite that ND/Tech game over on ESPN at 8pm...

Also, the new primetime ABC Saturday night deal now means the bulk of ESPN's Gameday shows will now probably be centered on the ABC primetime game. Chances of seeing Gameday at Neyland(or any other SEC venue for that matter) will further diminish...

Yeah, that's not good.. :(

25% Catholic population in US could explain part of that. Provided Tennessee has a great year the gameday crew will come IMO.

Game day will no doubt have some allegieances with what ABC's game is that day, but i can't believe that they won't be making regular stops....

Aub/Bama, UGA/UF, AUB/LSU, TN/FL etc...are still big marquis games that will get their share of visits....

not one SEC game, that sucks
Once again, SEC has contracts with CBS.

Gameday will undoubtedly make to a few SEC games. The Cocktail Party and Iron Bowl are the most probable.

and ESPN and JP....ESPN will still have to promote to thier audience, and a lot of those night ESPN games will be on ESPN....so they'll still be around an SEC campus near you...plus, and i think it's already been mentioned, ABC coverage, picture, commetnators suck anyway.

I don't really pay attention to the commentators. I usually have friends around watching the game, so you cant really hear them.

not me...i can't stand watching a TN game as a social event....the only people i want around are those that care, and shut up during the game....

when i lived in ATL, a couple of guys i knew that "weren't from around here" came over to hang out during the FL game...i gave them fair warning, and that for about 4 hours, i wouldn't exactly be hospitable.

they didn't make to halftime with me...

Not a bad slate of games. It would be much better if they could get OU and Texas to move their October 7 tilt to the evening. That probably won't happen, though.

i haven't seen any times announced yet, and they are subject to change as CBS sees fit...they get first dibs, and you have to look at the other SEC games on the schedule that day and determine which one CBS wants...

For instance...Sept. 16 has TN/UF and AUB/LSU....two high profile games...whichever one CBS doesn't choose, it's likely that ESPN will pick up that as a night game....and there's alwasy the possibility of a CBS double header...

but if i was a bettin' man...i'd say the TN/FL game and TN/Bama game will be CBS games at 3.30 EST. TN/UGA will probably be an ESPN game...cause LSU/UF play the same day, and CBS will likely choose that game.

the TN/USC game will likely be an ESPN game as well...cause UF/UGA is the same day, and CBS will likely choose that...

TN/LSU could be on CBS..it's the only real marquis game...but if we suck by then, CBS could pass and put on UGA/KY....who knows....

TN/ARK is the same day as AUB/UGA....likely CBS will choose the UGA game...and the ARK game will be on ESPN...

just my best guesses...likely to all change...

I'm almost certain the Cal game will be an ESPN primetime telecast. If CBS doesn't shy away from competing with ABC, I would think the Florida game would also be under the lights.

CBS's advance schedule of games should be coming down to local affiliates next week some time(which means I can get my hands on it). I'll let y'all know when I do...
