It’s 45-42 Tech and Abilene Christian has the ball on Tech’s 4 yard line with 11 seconds left.

There have been 1104 yards of total offense between the two teams in regulation.

Abilene Christian’s QB alone has gone off for 485 yards passing (34 for 47) and 3 TDs.

They’ve had 6 offensive TDs tonight.

Oh ACU’s QB had his WR in the end zone on their first pass and the WR dropped it on the way down to the ground.

And the pressure gets to the QB, his main WR falls down, the QB tries to take the draw and he’s sacked.

Final score 52-51 Tech

So an FCS team just dropped 615 yards of offense on a P4 program. Texas Tech isn't known as a defensive powerhouse but geez

When your QB has gone off for 506 yards and 3 TDs, only threw one bad pass down the sideline all game, and hasn’t been sacked all game, you don’t have to - honestly you shouldn’t - go for two in the first OT.

You’re easily able to keep up with them at this point, go into another OT period where you’ll almost certainly score again and let them mess up first.

I get people like the gutsiness of “go for 2 after the first OT”, but this was just such a wrong scenario for it here.
