I have heard references to the annual fan get together to meet the incoming Lady Vol basketball team members. According to what I heard it is supposed to be this evening. However, I have been unable to find any reference to the get together on the utsports.com website. Does anyone have any particulars?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Finally went straight to the source. Called Katie Wynn. Meet the Newcomers is at 6:00 PM today at TBA in Sec 104. Parking available in G-5 on top.

Why was it not announced? We like to go,and did not hear one word about it. And they know my address, email, and phone numbers. :-(

I, too, have some difficulty in this regard. I believe I got an email some time ago telling me that this event was going to occur and to look for upcoming information, but then no other upcoming information was to be had!

I scoured the utsports website and particularly the women's basketball news section and nothing was posted about this event. Whoever is in charge of getting the information out to the fans is falling down on their job, in my opinion.

Despite these shortcomings, there was a fair turnout. All of Sec 104 and parts of 103 and 105 were in use. Jannah Tucker and Diamond DeShields were there along with the three freshmen. Everybody made the right comments, including Holly. It does appear that the favorite pastime when not in class or practice is sleep! And I'll have to say that those comments reminded me of my four years as an undergrad.

This event has become fairly orchestrated in the last couple of years, with Mickey Dearstone acting as MC and directing some fairly innocuous questions to the players and fan questions only addressed to Holly.

All in all, a pretty good presentation. I think the freshmen are going to fit in well, and I am looking forward to seeing Jannah Tucker hit the court!

Wish we had known; we would have been there. Never had one piece of information come in about it. Bad business on behalf of the AD/WBB. You would think they would want all the fan involvement they could get.
