Expert predictions: ACC/Big Ten Challenge - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

Minnesota had two injured players, but Tubby's squad went down hard to UVA.

Wonder if the Big 10 will be overall losers in this tilt and if so what that will mean.

Ohio State and Illinois look strong in unblemished starts.

Michigan State has a loss but still looks very strong as well. This is a team that could lose to Duke by 20 and you still feel will be fine by March. Izzo is one of the best.

Wisconsin? Not looking strong. Bad loss to ND and their offense just looks even worse than usual.

Purdue? Also had a bad loss. They will come out of the Virginia Tech game either elated to have given the Hokies a 3rd loss, or deflated after losing again.

The top 6 of the Big 10 may not be as good as people thought.

Who looks like the best conference just based on early returns? The Big East has a pretty strong claim.

Illinois lost to Texas.

Right. My bad. They still look very strong to me.

December 11th, Indiana will get punked by Kentucky, but I have a feeling that just like with Penn State losing, people will say it is not one of the better teams in the Big 10 so it does not matter.

Ohio State has looked like World Beaters.

Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue are all worse than expected record wise at this point in the year.

Minnesota is probably a bit better than expected and Illinois is not much worse or better.

All 6 look good enough that they should make the NCAAs.

The worst team in the Big 10 in Iowa does not look nearly as bad as the SEC state of Alabama that has two just miserably awful teams at this point.

Standings

Before Hummel's injury Purdue was my pick to win the Big 10 but now I'm leaning towards the Illini. I maybe wrong but I think Duke beats Michigan State by 10 plus.

I agree that the Big East is the top conference for now. UConn dismantling UK was big for them and hurt the SEC.

Man, Wisconsin's offense was just awful tonight. I sure hope Bo can get that fixed.

This game has a Duke/UNC feel. A truly great atmosphere here.

Big 10 wins the Challange for the second year. Great games last nite with the Purdue/VT and MSU/Duke games!

I don't really care about Singler much. Irving is the real deal to go along with Smith. That backcourt is scary. Curry and Dawkins will be solid bench players and provide great shooting. Young Plumlee is doing great in the post, also. This makes Duke the most well rounded team in the country.
