ACC Expansion Redux

If this happens, USF will be the only full member with football. I think most of their non-football schools play FCS, though.

UNC and Va to B1G

While it is not 100% impossible, I think people are crazy if they think UNC is going anywhere without Duke. And who wants Duke football in their conference? The ACC is basically run by the North Carolina schools. NC State seems to have the unhappiest fans amongst them, but I think that conference is planning to stay around. They have not been passive during this conference expansion phase.

I'd say that's right. I don't see any way for Cincy athletics to take that big step up, though. It's a pro-sports town. I don't see them being much more than a stepping stone type program.

That's true. Not sure there's the money or commitment to make any difference either. I would be interested to see if a move to the ACC would change that though.

Big East/ACC and ND merge into a league together. Duke gets its way bringing in bball power UConn, Cincy and Cuse while ND gets to keep rivals like Pitt and BC.

The only problem is the Big East currently has like 15 basketball members. So Duke, Wake, BC makes 18. Not including the teams that are supposed to enter the BE in the next couple years.

5th is Boston College.

Pitt, Uconn, Ciny are ones that matter add them with BC, Pitt, Cuse, Duke, Wake and maybe Miami/UCF and you have your new ACC. The other BE schools with stick together as a D1 basketball and FCS football. The Mtn West and Wac schools are already looking to return to conference or join C-USA.

I wouldn't be shocked if the 4 southernmost (and football first) members (FSU, Miami, GT and Clemson) left for the Big12.

Would put the BigXII at 14. With 5 east coast teams counting WV.

And would effectively surround the SEC for future TV expansion

...how's a WVU fan site supposed to be an authority here?

(reads further) oh wait, it's the "dude from WVU" guy...of course he's going to start pushing some out of left field thing he came up with, without any real backing

I was speaking hypothetically. According to ESPN ACC is looking to add Louisville, Cincinnati, UCONN. Not sure if they will just replace Maryland or expand.

L'ville in the ACC.

Problem with FSU is they have to wait it and see what happens with Maryland's buyout bc they don't have anything close to 50 million to leave.
