Which conference will have the worse season?

17-16 Iowa over Northern Iowa
23-20 Minnesota over Syracuse
31-27 Ohio State over Navy
19-13 Indiana over Eastern Kentucky
28-20 Wisconsin over N. Illinois
37-9 Missouri over Illinois

24-21 Baylor over Wake Forest
7-3 South Carolina over NC State
24-16 Richmond over Duke
26-14 William&Marry over Virginia

Big 10 pulled out the close games against poor opponents while the ACC lost. I still am not sure that warrants saying the Big 10 is better than the ACC. A lot can change over the course of the season but I am thinking both are terrible and will be equally bad. What say you?

Neither conference is solid. I'll give the Big 10 the edge over the ACC, because at least the former didn't lose to two I-AA teams last week.

The Big11Ten will be back. Rich Rodriquez will change the way football is played in the midwest, and everyone in the conference will benefit.

I don't know if he will change it absolutely, but yes, I agree that the entire conference will get a lift.

If you match the teams, I think it looks a little like this (projected winners bolded):

Ohio St-Georgia Tech
Penn St-Virginia Tech
Michigan-Miami
Michigan St.-Clemson
Purdue-Boston College
Iowa-North Carolina
Northwestern-Florida St.
Minnesota-NC State
Wisconsin-Virginia
Indiana-Duke

So I'd say, across the board, Big 11 dominates.

Your putting a bunch of faith in the big 10, IMO.

I think on any given day Georgia Tech beats OSU, and at the moment Miami beats Michigan. We should know alot more after this weekend though.

I'm not sure Ohio state and Penn State beat Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech. They have a tad bit more athletes than Navy. Penn State lost so many players from last year. Anyone could win those games but I wouldn't put money on Ohio State beating anyone with talent right now after almost losing to a team like Navy.

I say ACC has a better year. big 11 is way overrated. OSU will get destroyed today by USC

Big 10 is at it again.

Northwestern is tied 24-24 with Eastern Michigan
Wisconsin is up 24-21 against Fresno State
Michigan state is up 27-20 against Central Michigan
Indiana is up 23-17 against Western Michigan

All are in the 4th quarter.

Fresno State nails a game tying kick with 15 seconds. Northwestern hits what should be the game winning field goal with 3 seconds.

Touchdown Central Michigan! If they hit the extra point, tied game with 30 seconds. Wisconsin-Fresno State in overtime.

Wow. Central Michigan goes for two and throws the pass out of bounds. Game over. Big 10 continues to get lucky. I officially think the Big 10 is the worst. They are not good.

Central Michigan in field goal range with 8 seconds. Come on Central Michigan!

Missed it but Michigan State was offsides! 42 yard attempt coming up!

So Northwestern, Wisconsin and Indiana escape by the hair on their chinny chin chins.

There's absolutely no chance Michigan or Michigan State would beat Miami this year.

I don't know if we (GT) beat Ohio State or Penn State, and I don't know if we're the top of the ACC either, but the ACC rolls in the middle.

The ACC would probably lose to Penn St and Ohio St, and whoever plays UVA or Duke would win, but the ACC would take the rest for sure. Except Maryland, they're the most inconsistent team in the universe. Just flip a coin for that game no matter who they're playing.

Miami and FSU are basically equivalent teams over the past two years. FSU is one of the few ACC teams to face a Big Ten opponent in the past couple of seasons. They trounced Wisconsin last year, and they've got basically everyone back on that team. Over half of Miami's starters last year were freshmen. Miami is going to be a powerhouse over the next couple of years.

You guys have Tech slotted at the top of the ACC, and I won't argue we will probably end up near the top, but that Miami game looks like the hardest one on our schedule to me, if you follow their program. Harder than Georgia.

Michigan, on the other hand, will be lucky to win 7, with an easier schedule than Miami.
