He had 13 catches for 300 yards and 4 TDs in their last game. I don't care who you play, that's ridiculous. For those of you who don't remember, Bowman is straight out of Chattanooga, TN... and chose to play for North Carolina instead of UT. Then, he transferred to Oklahoma State, where he is now a junior.... and LEADING THE NATION IN RECEIVING YARDS!

May have been a worse loss than Patrick Turner.

I do not believe he is a big loss at all. He has over 100 yards receiving only twice this year: 166 against Houston and 300 against KU. He had 93 against FAU, 78 against Ark St. If he puts up over 75 yards against OU, Texas, or TAMU I will be surprised.

Fact is, he leads the nation in receiving yards. Can anyone say who the Oklahoma State QB is without looking him up? I sure can't. Just imagine him catching balls from Ainge. UT's receivers are doing an excellent job this season... but to say that Bowman is not a big loss at all... ha.

Can you name a defensive back that plays for KU? Heading into that game they were giving up over 260 yards through the air per game, and that includes games against Northwestern State (not Northwestern), Louisiana-Monroe, Toledo, and South Florida! Like I said, let's see Bowman put up numbers against OU, Texas, and TAMU, then we can judge...add Nebraska to that list as well. I have a feeling that Bowman does not even close the year out in the top ten in receiving yards.

If DJ Wolfe covers him, he'll get about 250 against OU.

All I'm saying is I wouldn't mind seeing Ainge hook up with Bowman here at Tennessee. I'd say it wouldn't be too shabby. Much like Ainge to Meachem... or Ainge to Swain.... or Ainge to Smith isn't too shabby.

I mean... UT doesn't need Bowman... I just hate to see players like him or Patrick Turner do well after they stiffed Tennessee coming out of high school. I hope he doesn't finish in the top 10 in receiving yards.

He wouldn't be here. He had multiple marijuana charges during his tenure at UNC. No way he would still be playing for UT.

Bowman, 3 receptions for 48 yards against TAMU...

Yeah... but you forgot to mention the 2 touchdowns. He caught one TD pass in OT that would've forced double OT if OSU wouldn't have had their PAT blocked.

Quit selling the guy short... not mentioning the 2 TDs... c'mon....

Considering this was my statement, concerning Bowman's future performance:
If he puts up over 75 yards against OU, Texas, or TAMU I will be surprised.
I figured this post was quite relevant:
Bowman, 3 receptions for 48 yards against TAMU...

I never said anything about TDs, anywhere...

He obviously didn't put up many yards... but he had a couple of big touchdowns. He had a very good game because of that....

You're not going to count the TD in overtime that should've forced double OT? That's harsh.

Anyways, I don't even know what we're debating here. All I'm saying is... if someone catches 2 TD passes in one game... it was a good game. I don't care if it was 2 catches, 2 yards, 2 TD. It's like an unwritten rule... if you catch 2 TD passes, you had a good game.

You don't agree that Bowman had some clutch TD catches in the game?

I do not agree that Bowman had a "very good game." Two TD catches is alright, however, the man was shut down most of the day. Oklahoma State threw to him 6 times and 3 of those times he could not get off his man to make the catch. So, he came up with two big TDs! Are you going to proceed to tell me exactly how clutch Marcus Allen was in his twilight years with the Chiefs? He had lots of TDs, not too many carries or yards though. He would not have been a great addition to that many teams. I doubt Bowman would have even seen the field for UT until Swain pulled up a little gimpy in the Bama game. And, again, like I said, I will be very surprised if he puts up 75 yards against Texas and OU, because he obviously didn't against TAMU.

I know you were being sarcastic but don't give in. Bowman does have talent and I think he will continue to get better.

Yeah, I was definitely being sarcastic. Bowman has the size and speed to be a playmaker at WR. He'll get his chance in the NFL in a couple of years.

I will give you the size, however, running a 4.5 is not exactly blazing NFL speed.

And, ok, so Bowman went for more than 75 against Nebraska, and I am extremely surprised that he got those 11 extra yards!

Hey now... 4.5 isn't slow, either. I was surprised he did well against Nebraska as well, considering who is throwing him the ball. What Bowman does well is make big plays. He had a 45-yard TD catch against Nebraska.

therealUT, will you at least admit this guy has talent? Look at his stats in each game this season. He has so many big plays, I can't even begin to list them all. I know his competition is pretty weak this year in the Big 12, but you have to give the guy a little credit.

I think he is a decent WR, worthy of being the number one guy for Oklahoma State. He could probably be the number two guy at a handful of Top 25 programs, however, with the receiving trio we have at UT, I doubt he would see the field unless we were in a four wide out formation.

He has an inch on Meachem, two inches on Swain and Smith. However, Swain and Smith run 4.4s and Meachem has been clocked at 4.39.
