I scored 4 away game tickets for the game at Sanford stadium and will be taking some coworkers and possibly clients.

Does anyone here have parking and Game day advice for getting in and out with as much ease as possible? The parking deck prices on the secondary market aren't bad, and are pretty close to the stadium, but I don't want to be stuck in a deck for hours after the game. I also don't want to drive around aimlessly before the game without a clue. Any help is appreciated.

We can walk or take uber/shuttles if needed, just trying to develop a little bit of a plan before deciding to buy passes in advance or find a pay lot.

Prepare to be insulted by the classless UGA fans.

Give this thread some time... it's an early thread....VolNation has a wealth of knowledge and a lot will stay up late... someone will know something and post it...just be patient.

I will never visit Sanford & Son stadium again. Remove all TN plates or stickers from your car or expect it to get damaged.

Best advice is to go with a UGA fan or Athens area resident who knows the backroads. Otherwise, prepare to be stuck awhile. I've not had that bad of experiences there with the fans except for 2006 when we beat them, but that one was the most fun to me. They were so salty. That's SEC road games though, if you aren't prepared for that possibility, you don't need to go. The only time I have ever been seriously concerned for our group's safety was at LSU in 2005.

Two years ago, I went to the UGA football website and found a place to order a parking pass. It was a little walk, but nothing a 64 year old man couldn’t do without and problems. It was nice not having to worry and finding a place to park. Very easy to get out of the garage as well. 🧡🤍🧡

Last time we went was the Dobbs to Jennings game. Within seconds the scoreboard went dark. I think we parked near the intramural fields which was a bit of a walk but worth it. I have never heard so many UGA fans who were speechless. Quietest postgame walk ever. Not on my list to go back to.

There are several parking spots as you drive around campus. It’s not difficult to find a spot. It’s a little bit of a wall, but there’s plenty of parking usually just small pay lots. I can confirm with the other people above said it’s the worst SEC stadium to visit. I thought winning championships may make it a little better for them hoping that the all they spit was because they lost for so long, but it really hasn’t changed anything. I have been to most other SEC stadiums (not LSU) and I can’t even think of a close second to uga as far as classlessness. I always hear all these stories about Gainesville every year. I’ve been there 10 times and never had even close to bad experience. Times going to Athens I’ve probably had one remotely decent experience.

They do have parking decks you can park, and ride a bus to the stadium. I can't remember the name of the deck we parked at when i took my wife, but it was right off the main highway, and I was on my way home in about 5 minutes after getting to the car. I've also paid $40, and walked near a mile unfortunately. Maybe @gavhas some tips, he's been.

I agree, I have great friends, and even married a Georgia fan (but I'll keep her😅), but they're horrible for the most part.

My advice for returns from attending a game in Athens is don’t get into a wreck, smack your head against the side window, and completely (though temporarily) lose your short term memory. 1 star…would not recommend.

If you want an easier exit and are willing to walk, try to find a lot near US129 , the loop around town. I've parked on the intramural fields off Lake Herrick Dr and had a pretty quick exit out if town

I read about the intramural field parking on another site so I appreciate the mention. That may just be the ticket.
