After last night...

I would love to think so, but not in the swamp. I think they can make the score close...but anything more is wishful thinking.

BUT THIS IS THE SEC!!!

Did anyone think the Cocks had a chance last year against the Gators? Probably not, however its called the Evil Genious:devilsmoke: who has a way of winning ballgames he shouldn't. I would never count Spurrier out.

My thinking with teams like USC that are not at the top of the SEC heap, but not that far behind, is that most of the time they have to take the spoiler approach which with this loss to Tennessee they are now firmly in spoiler mode. They have played auburn and UT fairly close, and you usually expect a team like USC to pull off at least one big win a year, and they havent yet, but maybe they used all their luck up last year. If Florida plays like they did yesterday though, I would give USC more than a good shot. Georgia just didnt seem up to the task yesterday. Neither team seemed like they wanted to win it much.

I think they do because Newton is a good QB.....He made some decent plays yesterday not just with his legs, but in the air too....They'll give Florida a run for their money, but probably not beat them.....But then again, like "Cibai" said....They are in spoiler mode right now and I bet Spurrier would love nothing more than to spoil the Gators SEC Championship hopes

Ummm, did none of you see anything from the Florida/UGA game? Florida did not beat UGA. UGA beat themselves with 5 turnovers. They had 5 turnovers and still just lost by a touchdown. USC has a chance because Newton is a special player. That and Florida is grossly overrated.

I dont think Florida is overrated though, I just think they had a game like we had last week against Bama.

SCs HOPE: Florida commits a ton of penalties, and I don't like they way their Offense plays late with the lead.

They fell apart against Auburn, and let Tennessee & Georgia get a couple of last shots, that they shouldn't have.

Leak is overrated. Just gotta stop Tebow when he comes in.

Don't forget 4 dropped balls by their TE Martrez Milner.....He gets a bad case of the drops every time Georgia plays them

Absolutely.

Florida's last two games haven't went that well. USC can definitely beat them.

I think if SC played GA now, SC would win. They are a much tougher team with Newton at QB. You just have to think if UF keeps picking up the peanalties game after game that they are, it will eventually bite them. SC with no turnovers, UF with a couple and UF with some bad timed penalties and SC has a shot. I haven't totally given up on Vandy's chances at Vandy. It's th SEC, any given SAturday! That being said, UT has enought to worry about the next few weeks. GO VOLS!

lets all just hope we get by lsu and arkansas hell the rest of our schedule and the gators lose, I think this newton kid is going to make FL one to remember he is a senior and he wants to prove he can win in big games, and as of now he hasnt done that. I can definatly see that happening

USc's biggest problem is that they can't put together a complete game...two times they have played very well against superior competition and come up short.

the two best games they've played this year, they lost both...at home. us and Auburn.

i don't see them beating UF on the road without a lot of help.

UF's defense is better than ours...and is maybe better than auburn's. they won't have near the trouble in shutting them down.

A lot of teams can play with Florida. Their offense is good, but a little overhyped as far as actually putting up points.

If SC gets a cheap TD or two, things might get interesting.

if i were a florida fan, the thing that would scare the hell out of me would be two things:
1. what if we need a FG to win the game? their FG kicker is awful....just awful. Eventually when FL plays a team of comperable talent...that will come in to play.
2. Could they have more penalties....again, get in to a game where the opponent isn't over matched....penalties to kill drives or keep opponents drives going...could get real interesting for FL.

they've been fortunate thus far that their Defense has been very good and forced turnovers all year long.

get a team that's disciplined, not mistake prone etc....and UF could easily lose.

not going to happen against the competition remaining...but in the SEC CG or bowl game...could be a huge factor against good teams.

Florida will have problems with the SC defense. Seal that in a mayo jar and bury it under Funk and Wagnel's front porch.

I really haven't seen anything with that Spread Offense that's made me think that it's as good as the Gator fans and some of the media had advertised it to be...They haven't really ran much of it...Except when Tebow is in the game....I guess next year will be when we see what that Spread Option is all about

I think the loss to UT will loosen up SC and let Spurrier work his magic. I also believe that Rice and/or McKinnley may break out against UF and Newton will give them fits. Boyd will have a few good runs benefitting from all of the focus being on Syvelle. I'm still not that high on UF's offense so I think that SC has enough to win.

The fact that Florida got five turnover gifts from uga and couldnt put them away shows that Florida isnt THAT good. The uga/uf game reminded me of auburn/florida...Florida looked unstoppable on offense in the first half, then got utterly contained. Still dont know if all that movement is really working.

I do think south carolina can beat them. Newton is as good as advertised. Too bad their fans are trash.
