it is clear that there should be no more than 4 teams in the playoffs. Teams #5-8 should start work on improving for next year and the media should stop trying to make college football the NFL on Saturdays.

I disagree but also understand that there just weren't a lot of great teams this year. I still think each P5 champion should go, one undefeated G5, and 2 wild cards.

Disagree with the analysis and conclusion from yesterday's game. One could make the case that Michigan and Penn State should have been in the playoff. Perhaps Oklahoma as well. If you want to argue the other side, your case from yesterdays results would be that there should only be two teams chosen to play for the Championship - Bammer and Clemson - since both games were blowouts. Surprisingly, I think last night's game was too big for Urban's Buckeyes. Possibly youth being the factor? Personally I believe there is only one team that is above the rest. Unfortunately, it's Bammer again. College football really needs a huge upset in the Championship game. Frankly, Bammer is starting to make college football like UCONN and women's basketball. Boringly predictable.

4th seed won it in the first playoff, so 4 is fine. No one wants to mess with the CCG, so if it ain't broke, leave it alone.

Allowing 8 teams in for Bama's sake would be the equivalent of trying to tiger proof the Masters. Bama is built for the playoffs.

Maybe 6 teams, and give the first two a bye. I can't remember when 8 teams were good enough for the playoff.

No. They should be mandatory, and the winner gets an automatic bid. If they do away with anything it should be the selection committee. Take the 5 conference champs and the 3 highest ranked non champs according to the AP poll and play it off.

Bammer is an NFL farm club. They practically draft players. I can't argue that an 8 team playoff works this year. It's Bammer with everyone else playing for 2nd. IMO, Clemson upsetting Bammer would be bigger than the Giants beating the 18-0 Pats a few years ago in the SB. Could happen, but I frankly hope not as bad as I hate to say it. Both Clemson and obviously Bammer are beating us in recruiting right now. I despise Bammer, but at this point it would be better if they shalak Clemson for our sake. Would be nice if Free Shoes U could knock off both these "pains in our rear" next year. I believe Clemson's campus is the closest Power 5 school to Knoxville. Ah, probably doesn't matter. Dabo likely gets serious consideration from his alma mater when Satan retires. Bammer goes down a notch or two and Clemson returns to 2nd or 3rd in a mediocre ACC. Then we get payback by raiding the Palmetto state for their top recruits.

Exactly what I've been saying for three years. Put all the conference champs in a playoff. It's not rocket science. Screw Notre Dame and BYU if they don't want to join a conference then don't plan on playing for the championship

Flame away, but the playoff is just a money machine foe ESPN. CFB isn't the NFL, where all teams operate on an even playing ground, with an equal budget (e.g. salary cap). The BCS computers would have put Clemson v. Bama that is good enough for me.

I couldn't disagree more. It should be 8 teams. And you might as well get used to it, it is going to happen.

That's the same thing they said about the BCS.

The playoff, makes the three games involved much more interesting, at the expense of conference championships. The non playoff games are also rendered nothing more than exhibitions. That's why Fornette, McCaffrey and others sat out. That said, moving to 8 teams, would curb some of the lack enthusiasm on by players. But if they go to eight, tn need to cut back on the # of regular season games.

I think 6 is the perfect number.

I do too. And make it only conference champions. Power 5 champs and 1 wildcard for non-auto bid league champions. If everybody plays a conference championship game, it's effectively a 12 team playoff. It would add 2 total games in muse December and give a couple of lower tier bowls great matchups.
