I was able to get some $ in at +6,600 before it continued to drop. This team will be no.3 going into the playoffs, beat whatever BIG team is there and play in a 50/50 rematch with Georgia. Vegas is seeing big $ come in on the vols with that massive line move over a few hours.

That’s bold🤔

We need lots of help to get in the CFP, but a rematch with UGA at a neutral site would be a different game IMO

Actually in his defense......a lot of the "rapid reaction" crews (including CBS, ESPN) have the predicted poll with us at #4 come Tuesday. And Michigan and Ohio State still have to beat each other up and TCU has a decent Texas team next week. 🤷‍♂️

Do any of the other one loss teams like Clemson, USC, UCLA, North Carolina, Oregon, etc. have a shot?

Our only loss will be to the No.1 team in the country unlike any other 1 loss team. Our resume is also still the best in the country with a drumming win over LSU, and Bama.

If things play out like I hope they should, these things happen:

Most importantly, Tennessee must do their business and win out, convincingly.
1. Texas beats TCU.
2. That moves us to 4 pretty solidly.
3. Georgia wins out and keeps the #1 spot.
4. Loser of OSU/Michigan falls to 4, we move to 3. Thus the committee doesn’t have to have a UGA/Tennessee semifinal, nor an OSU/Michigan semifinal.

Did you not watch what happened last night? Bama lost and is done. Clemson was blowed by Notre Damn. Michigan and Ohio State still have to play each other. TCU has 2 road games next 2 weeks against Texas, and Baylor and then Big12 championship game. Yes the lose sucked to UGA, but we are in good shape now if we win out. I think we will be at #4 or #5 when CFP polls come out.

I don’t think Oregon gets in after they was destroyed by UGA on neutral field. LSU won’t move ahead of UT unless they win the SEC which is not likely. UT done more to lose that game yesterday than UGA had to do with us losing. Hooker over threw wide open Bru and Hyatt for TD’s. Over threw Fant that was open. There INT trying to force it to Tillman. We left at least 17-24 point on the field that UGA had nothing to do with. Defense held up nicely, they just didn’t get any help from the offense. I believe if we play UGA again on neutral site I think it’s a different game.

Nailed it. We need to win out, Georgia needs to win out and we go into playoffs no.3

The defense was getting torched until it started raining. At that point UGA was up 21 and Kirby decided he wasn't going to give us anything cheap and that we couldn't score 21 points in the time allotted if we had to earn it. Stetson threw I think 1 pass in the last 20 minutes. We've got to figure it out on offense against them, I don't think we can stop them when they leave the playbook open our play is to make it a shootout on a neutral field and get some turnovers. I think it's pretty clear they are significantly better than Bama at this point.

I’ll still take a rematch with them on a neutral site with a shot at the national championship vs some meaningless bowl game against TCU etc

Could a one loss PAC champ overtake the loser of the OSU vs UM game?
We are in as long as we win out in convincing fashion and TCU loses imo. Just to be on the safe side though, we need UGA to win out, Oregon to lose again, and as much general chaos as possible. Last night was a good start.

Like I said above, I think we are most likely in. Ohio State would be a tough out too. They have athletes on defense and are much improved on that side of the ball from last year. The advantage we have there I think is that we will be alot more battle tested than they are.

Our offense left at least 17 points on the field. Hyatt and Bru was open in the end zone and if Hooker don’t overthrow both it’s a different ball game. Hooker threw INT to trying to force it to Tillman and over threw Fant for big play. Also Dee Williams has to catch that punt that went 75yards and down at goal line. That was the biggest play of game up to that point. Their was 4 plays in that game that decided that game.

Maybe, but a one loss PAC champ doesn’t have the resume that we have. It helps that Oregon played Georgia head to head and got demolished
Tennessee definitely has looked like one of the four best teams all year long, but the problem UT has is the following:

1. The rules of the playoff committee. The closer it gets to the last selection show the more you will hear about it. The playoff committee, by rule, has to take a Power 5 one-loss power five champion over a 1 loss non-champion unless there is overwhelming evidence not to.

No one-loss non-champion has ever made the playoff while a one-loss power five champion was available. The three teams that made it in as a non-champion (excluding Notre Dame) was 2016 Ohio State, 2017 Alabama, and 2021 Georgia. In none of those years was there a one-loss P5 champion available. Not saying it won't happen, just that if it does it will be the first time in the playoff history.

2. Bama losing did UT strength of schedule no favors. Remember, those top 25 wins over Pittsburgh and Florida will not be considered top 25 wins in the eyes of the committee, only their poll matters to them.

3. The SEC only playing 8 conference games could hurt too. Tenn will play 9 total P5 games but a one loss champion form the Big 12 or Pac 12 will play 10 conference games (including championship game) plus most of all of the potential champions also played at least one P5 non-conference game. Get ready for a lot of "analysts" to talk about USC or TCU playing 11 P5 games and having just as many top 25 wins as UT.

4. While I cannot see any way UT does not go 11-1, UT will not have any opportunity to "impress" the committee with their last three opponents.

Our loss is to the no.1 team in the country. That helps tremendously

It also depends how the committee actually views our loss. Let’s be honest, the whipped us worse than the score would suggest. But the score matters, and it was only 14 points, in Athens, and the home field advantage absolutely effected the game early.

All the scenarios you described with other teams still falls under the column of “lots of help”. But I agree that if all those things happen we have a strong case for the #4 spot. That would probably give us a rematch with #1 uga, and like I said, at a neutral site I think it’s a completely different ball game.

Yep........I agree with ya. I think if we take care of business we're in. I know an SEC title would be awesome, but I'd MUCH rather be in the running for a Natty. One less game to beat our guys up and a couple of extra weeks to prep and heal. ..... great trade if you ask me
