For the umpteenth time on the career of Conredge Holloway, it makes me proud to be a TN grad. The man is pure class and represents TN in the most professional way. I'm proud TN is the first school in the SEC to start a black QB. When people ask who are my favorite Vols of all-time, Mr. Holloway is at the top. Simply the best.:rock:

Lester McClain deserves a big shout out as the first black player at TN.

I was at the tunnel entrance to the visitors locker room at the Oregon game when he walked by to go off the field prior to the players coming out for the opening kickoff. I have been fortunate in my life to meet a lot of notable people and I feel like I am pretty cool around celebrities. But as he started to walk by, I heard myself yell out to him, "Hey, Condredge!" He looked up and I leaned over the rail to extend my hand and say hello. He came over and shook my hand before heading on down the tunnel.

I immediately called my Dad in Florida and said, "Guess who I just shook hands with?" I have to admit I was pretty amped-up. And I think my Dad might have been even more excited. But I guess that's what being a lifelong Vol fan is all about.

I know...cool story, bro.

So am I alone in thinking that a modern day version would be a franchise QB?...in the American version of Canadian football?

Not if you are including me.

That guy would be an early pick for my fantasy team as well

Lester was the first in the SEC. UT led the way. We should all be proud of that... and Old Mess will never get over it.
