Just an example of the inept of our coaching staff.
On the third series when Ainge came in, the WR's were Josh Brisco, Austin Rogers and Lucas Taylor. Why wasn't Ainge afforded the opportunity to have the starting WR's on the field with him? One incompletion, two penalties and a draw play and that was it for Ainge. It almost looks like the coaches are setting Ainge up to fail. I think we play too many players on offense. Who is the No.1 WR, Why was Brisco on the field late in the Georgia game? This team has no identity because the coaches don't know what a starting lineup is.

It could be that those were the WR's that he has been working with the most. All in all, I have no idea.

I think it's just the opposite. I'd say that the coaches are begging for Ainge to step up and take the job. Why else would they give the job to Ainge to begin the season then give it back to him prior to the LSU game?

He didn't ouplay Clausen either time.

If anyone hasnt noticed Weiss has made an NFL commodity out of Brady Quinn, I saw on ESPN where he personally worked with Brady on his mechanics. Our Ainge may be where Brady was...It would be such a waste if he didnt get some help, I gotta ask this...Is it that CPF doesn't see this or doesn't have any connections to do this?

I hate to say it, but it may be as simple as we just don't have much at the QB position right now.

How can we say Ainge is not or can't be a good QB. Look what he did last year. You don't come into the SEC as a freshman QB and beat FL,GA and Bama without having great talent. He made some great throws. Something has happened to him and I think it is the coaching. Look at his last Hail Mary pass against Bama. He just lofted the ball up. He has a strong enough arm to drill the ball 60 or 70 yds but instead he threw a long floater. Easy to bat down or intercept. When you throw a Hail Mary you should throw it as long and as hard as you can. The coaches have screwed up his mechanics and his confidence. They'll do the same to Crompton.

The Crompton situation will be interesting. But they are doing to AInge, what they did to Riggs 2 years ago.

Ainge played better last year...at times. His actual achievements have been quite overstated, IMO. Don't misunderstand, I think he was good for a true frosh. But he did not set the world on fire. I think people were expecting the "sophomore leap" out of him that most QBs have after playing as frosh.

Remember, last year he had a good half against FL, "managed the game" against UGA, and then proceeded to pretty much do nothing the rest of the year until he was hurt.

In my estimation, he played poorly against:

-AUB: 4 ints
-ND: offense was dead when he went down
-MISS: late grab by B Smith saved an otherwise terrible game
-USC: offense couldn't move until Schaeffer came in and re-ignited.
-BAMA: 200 yards offense, scraped by

He does seem to have great physical skill, and he can't be completely ignorant of what's going on. That tells me he needs to be TAUGHT how to play the position. At worst he should be good enough to be a caretaker with a good play-action arm.

Remember these guys before good coaches got a hold: Carson Palmer, Brady Quinn, Troy Aikman, Shane Matthews, Blake Mitchell...and on we go.

BTW, David Martin made a nice catch tonight for the Packers. We really got a lot of use out of him.
