Ainge injury info?

Any word on his other ankle. I heard that he hurt it too during the game. Also did he reaggravate his ankle sprain.

FWIW....

My niece saw him at the movie theater (Borat) last night, and said he was walking with crutches.

I'm no medical expert by any means, but it's starting to sound like for Ainge's sake it might be best to shut him down for another week at least.

Hindsight being 20/20, sure makes you wish they had sat him for the LSU game.

True, but I don't think there was any way to keep Ainge from starting Saturday . . . and truth be told, before he got sacked, he wasn't as mobile, but he really wasn't looking that bad.

If I was Fulmer I wouldn't play Ainge until the Bowl game. I think it would be a safe bet to say that he won't play at Arkansas and I don't see playing him against UK and Vandy and risking injury when we should be able to beat both of those teams with Crompton.

I think the thing to do is not to play him next three games. I believe Crompton will be fine and the silver lining to this is Crompton is getting valuable playing time.

My thoughts exactly fellas. Crompton needs meaningful snaps and I believe, like you two, that we can win these last three with him. The great thing for him is that we will get each of these last 3 opponent's 'best shot' and have to fight to win. GREAT experience opportunity for JC to get a taste of SEC action. Get Ainge fully healed.......we may have the look of a Champion next year. Look at the roster------Need to keep Meachem.....but most everyone is coming back :)

Controversy? I doubt it. Look at what Ainge has been able to do before the injury. The huge thing for us is that we will have an even more capable backup. The last thing Phil and Cut will do is shake Ainge's confidence again. JC knows he is the man of the future. He just needs to wait his turn and (cliche) "practice like he's one play away." :thumbsup:

I am not necessarily talking about on the team and coaching staff, but with the brain dead fans.

Guaranteed. We'll have two good Qb's next year which will lead to controvesey if its not decided in the spring the pecking order. However, its great to have a capable backup with experience. Just not sure which one will be the starter and which one the backup next year. EA's injury has certainly given JC a chance to show he is capable. Against LSU he had a pretty good debut. By the way, I am not a Ainge guy or a Crompton guy, so don't read anything into it of who I'm for. I'm for what ever helps the TEAM the most and WINS games.

if aige stays for his senior yr he will be the starter because he is the number 1 qb.

Oh I would too, but it seems lately that we have been 1 deep at QB. take last year and the "two freshman" year out of it- usually if our No. 1 goes down, we're screwed. UT's schedule doesn't get any easier next year, and if you have to point to a positive its that Crompton is getting reps. I didn't want to see Crompton, personally, until '08

In my mind, there should be little doubt that EA should be the starting QB for the bowl game and next season. But for the next three games, I belive JC should be the starter. Ainge's ankle needs to heal in time for the bowl game, and JC can get some very valuable playing time.
