I was hoping it would have been Mr. Clausen especially since his stellar performance in the Cotton Bowl. Still I'll take Ainge any day.

I DO trust you. Absolutely. But I have friends who don't trust ME and I wanna rub it in because they thought Rick was a shoo-in.

Can you imagine ANYBODY not trusting ME???

Gotcha, wasn't sure if it was metioned that he would play on the third sereis like they did with Ainge last year.

I'm at work, but wanted too take the chance to say I was wrong. I thought for sure Clausen would start vs. UAB, then give way.

Alot of people thought I would not admit I was wrong, but here it is.

I hope it turns out as well as I think it will.

Go Ainge

Go Vols

I had recently put my hat in Rick's corner as well. I felt Ainge had made a few too many picks in practice.

I hope that doesn't beat us in a close one.

In other news, Beltway has committed suicide and is now rooting for Alabama

Seems to me that Fulmer thinks that Ainge will open up the field a little more and make opposing defenses more honest.

Seemed to me that Rick was always taking the underneath throws and not wanting to risk the turnover for the big play downfield.

Looks like Fulmer is kinda going back on his old approach of being so very conservative due to the talent he obviously sees on the field this year. We have a chance to be a very high scoring offense with Ainge in there.

I was thinking Clausen all the way, but I'm glad Fulmer is willing to take more of a risk with a higher reward with Ainge.

It also may point to the fact that Fulmer thinks our defense is good enough that it can get us out of any bad situations a turnover may create.

The ONLY concern I have with the decision is this.....

had he started Rick and then went to Erik for the UF , the second quessing could have been minimal, now, if the sophomore costs UT a , everyone will want to know why the senior team captain with a better grasp of the offense didnt get a chance to start.

That being said, I also dont want our coach making decisions based on what someone might complain about later on.

So, in short, good decision coach!

We all owe Rick a great deal of gratitude. He saved our season last year and gave us serious respectability again.. :good: We must remember however that the future of our offense/team lies in the hands of Erik Ange. By starting him we show our cofidence in his leadership ability plus, and maybe most importantly, we give him one more game of experience before we take on the Mastergaitors.

Rick will see a lot of time under center.

I still can't wait to hear "5-4-3-2-1 Give Him Six" :victory: :victory:
