I posted this in the pub along with pics of either but Erik Ainge resembles Xena Princess Warrior.

Yes I am serious just take a look in the pub. The discussion, I believe, is who should start in 06.

Tennessee is too far north to really count. We mean more along the lines of Mississippi and Alabama.

I disagree. Rick was a fine QB that did his job, wasn't anything great. Casey, by his numbers was the 2nd best QB in UT history, and that guy was tough. He'd take hits and just keep on going.

I'll take Casey's all time best road record (even better than peyton) and his wins over florida, alabama, miami, georgia, etc. over any other team's qb during the same time anyday. He did well at UT, and you all talk about him as if he was horrible, and we lost 10 games every season. Newsflash, we won A LOT with Casey.

I think Peyton Manning, Heath Shuler and Tee Martin all had better careers at UT then Casey Clausen.

I loved Casey Clausen from the very beginning of his career. I couldn't rush out faster to get a number 7 jersey.

For some strange odd reason I cannot stand Rick Clausen. I keep telling myself it was because he wore #16. Now I cannot even bear to wear the #7 jersey for fear someone might think of Rick Clausen.

*Yes I know that is completely sad but it is how I feel!*

I think both clausens were good QBs. Casey had great success on the road, but had problems winning bowl games. Rick won his bowl games and if it was not for rick 04 would have been a dismal season after Ainge went down. Rick bailed us out repeatedly and I have the utmost respect for any QB that has played for the UT. I think with the right guidence we will see Ainge and Crompton be great as well. Only time will tell bring 06 season. Go Vols

Smelley is a QB that played 1A football in AL. There is no way to tell how good he'd be in the SEC based on his history. Mustain, IMO that is a long shot. Personally, I'd love for Cut to be able to spend his time teaching the 2 QBs we have and getting a kid like Smelley to groom as a back-up. Smelley may turn out to be a good one, but don't bank on his stats playing against small slow white boys in Class 1A in Alabama. In fact, as a point in that regard, Smeeley and several other athletes from Tuscaloosa County High School (6A) transferred to American Christian Academy 2 years ago since their fathers didn't like the coaching at TCHS. This was reffered to as "ringer-gate in the 1A circle. ACA didn't go far in the state playoffs this year. Flop
