Any thoughts?

Ainge will be the guy that finally brings that Heisman home to Knoxville.

...and when he beefs up in the weight room, he'll be a first round pick, if not the first pick in the NFL draft.

So, yeah my answer is obvious. lol

Ainge is good yes, its too early to tell if he really is that good or is just on a hot streak. His receivers have made him look really good and the O-Line has given him pleanty of time also. All three are critical factors.

Good point. Added the line as one of the choices.

He's the best pro prospect at QB that Tennessee has ever had. This includes Peyton and Heath.

A year in the weight room and he's ready to tear it up!

best pro prospect? lets wait and see how the season plays out 1st....he looks good but its only been 3 games and without good protection and recievers that have made good adjustments and are running excellent routes thing might look different.. don't get me wrong I hope he's that good but as my pappy always said he's still cutt'n his teeth.... and the meat of the season is still to come.

There's a cool action pick from his high school days with the Glencoe Crimson Tide.

Hey, kickass pic.

I think I'm gonna whip me up a sig and av on photoshop though. B)

Yeah... Watching him in HS has been awesome. National syndication works, too, I suppose...

No, nothing's better than Friday nights.

I think it is probably more along the lines of 50-25-25. I mean, really, the offensive line has a pretty straightforward job to do, which is to buy the QB as much time as needed. Not easy, just straightforward. Everything else that happens after that, offense-wise stems from the ability of the QB to make good judgement. And UT's awesome pass game comes from the fact that both Ainge and the recievers kick ass... But if it wasn't for a good QB, there would be no good recievers.

WOW...YOUR SMOKING SOME OF RICKY'S GRASS, TOO EARLY!

Kind of tough to call him the best pro prospect ever after watching Peyton heave 5 TDs in the first half last week.

Man if Ainge ever actually starts a game, III Comunication may try to start a new religion or something! :D

Here is what I have perceived from previous years to this year. The offense if virtually the same this season from the last with the exception to the notable loss of last season's leading passer, Clausen, and leading receiver, Banks. The biggest difference seems to be emergence of Ainge.

The offensive line is playing better than last season. I think the running game is better, because the defenses are not cheating like they did last season. I don't think opponents feared Clausen and his arm strength. Ainge already throws the ball better than Clausen ever did.

Funny how for 3 seasons, Clausen complained about the receivers, and now that he is gone and there is a new quarterback, everybody thinks they are now great?

I think the change back to a large blocking fullback has helped the run game tremendously. Fleming was a great all-around fullback, but the Vols seem to have more success with a pure blocker at the fullback position.

So yes, I think it is a combination of all 3, however, I also think that Ainge is the key as well. If Shaeffer were used all the time, I think defenses would still be stacking the line and our rushing stats would be similar to last season. Shaeffer's throws do not seem to be as accurate as Ainge, so receiving stats would not be as good.... and there still might be complaints about receivers not meeting potential.

Just my :twocents:

it's a bit soon to give ainge manning type billing. he seems to be capable of getting to that level though. has brent become 2nd string instead of 1a? go vols!

While I agree that all parts are important, I think AInge makes that big of a difference. He has thrown to more than just receivers, and has done the job on the run too. He is the straw that stirs the Big Orange drink.

hey...i believe the recievers are better because they can catch the balls thrown their way....they have unbelievable concentration and they are making big plays when we need them..and even when we dont....so i think that mainly...it is all the QUARTERBACK!
AINGE IS THE BEST QB TENNESSEE HAS HAD....HE REALLY IS DOING BETTER THAN ANY FRESHMAN QB EVER ...MAYBE IN THE NCAA...but anyways..everyone CHECK THIS OUT...

Ainge is good but he is just a Freshman. Let him grow up and win some ball games for UT before you start shipping him out to the Wolves of the NFL.
