KNOXVILLE -- It was the first time since 1998 that the Tennessee coaching staff decided to go without green jerseys to protect the quarterback. But it was a necessary step.

KNOXVILLE -- It may have been expected, but it wasn't what onlookers wanted to see at Saturday afternoon's first intra-squad scrimmage as Tennessee prepares for the 2006 football season. Expecting to see a much improved offense under a revamped coaching staff, instead it was the Vol defense that ruled the day with its typical aggressive style.

For some reason, I have trouble giving much credence to a journalist who includes his nickname in his byline.
