I'm not sure he's ready to play yet. If the depth allows it this season, you've gotta think they'd love to redshirt him this season and have a dynamic trio of TEs to play with next season.

He's in a tough spot. He's 4th or 5th string as is this year. At best he's 3rd string next year. Personally, I think we need him next year so he can give us an insurance policy just in case Wolf or Helm go down, but I wouldn't blame the kid if he redshirts and looks to transfer. It'd be hard to go from playing your freshman year to hardly seeing the field. Plus, Oliver looks promising for 2015 and hopefully we can land Angel for 2016.

Did he just get recruited over that quickly or is he injured? He was starting TE and now he's not even listed on depth chart

Coming back from significant knee injury, isn't he? That can take a bit of time.

It's also worth noting that Branisel tore his ACL very late in the season last year. I think Missouri week. A redshirt would rob ably be good for him in the long run. We'll need him next season.

Downs has played some. He caught a TD pass this season. I think it was in the first game.

Downs has played quite a bit in the first 3 games. He's definitely been recruited over though and despite what the depth chart says, he's definitely been in the TE rotation thus far.
