If you took A J off the defense, who would be the best player on the defense? VOLNATION?

Mccullers.

x3 and what rjd970 said regarding Maggitt. A healthy Maggitt would've been awesome this year. That said, given how long it can take turf toe to heal and that if not given that time to heal properly (and we all know he was playing hurt) the very real consequences of that injury, which can be career ending, this ACL may be a blessing in disguise depending on how it's injured.

ACL surgery will definitely give him time to heal the turf toe and the surgery should patch him up pretty good barring unforeseen damage. Rehab sucks but Maggitt has that fire to play. He'll be back and better than ever, imo.

I still don't see how AJ gets all the love he does. He is horrible in pass coverage. I really don't see how he has as many tackles as he does. Shows how horrible the rest of our offense is.

AJ should not have to cover. He is not fast. McCullers keeps scaring the center on every team then it takes 3 people to block him and we still can't get pressure

AJ needs to pay attention to middle linebackers in the NFL , like Urlacher, needs to know when to blitz and when not to drop into pass coverage , he spies way to long and I saw many times when he had opportunities to blitz the QB , our linebackers should never allow a QB to sit in the pocket that long , and let draw plays happen, mizzous play action was terrible the few times they did it.

I'd say lathers or p Waggoner. Sentimore has had some moments as well and I believed Randolph was on his way to becoming the next Eric berry before his injury

McCullers or Sentimore. They both looked much better in the first half. But faded away late.

I actually believe that AJ, and his lack of speed, is a liability on defense. Plus, I'm pretty certain that there isn't a center in division 1 football who couldn't block him, on every down. 100% of the time. The worst MLB in UT history, when it comes to getting off blocks, and flying around. He does his best, I feel. He plays hard. He's just not good at getting off blocks.:peace2:
