Won't be long before we do more than that.

I think teams should start selling small portions for ad revenue and give that to players if they so desire.

I do believe that is the next frontier in corporate sponsorship. Will be interesting to see fans' reactions.

I like your idea of giving it to players a lot.

Well, I was going to say that pretty soon they'll have advertisements on them, and it will pretty much be like watching an awful soccer match...but I got beat to that one.

That's pretty ugly, and to think that my buddies and I bashed Mizzou and Miss St. for having hashtags on their field.

Link -- last I checked Lebron James buys the uniforms for the Zips - no way he funds this crap

The only ad I want on a UT jersey is a BCS bowl game patch (Tostitos, Discover, Allstate etc)

I'm just saying, Sell a patch on each arm or a big spot on the back or shorts (don't deck the whole thing out like Nascar or anything). But you could even have the kids get their own sponsorship, Nike wants to directly advertise for the #1 recruit? let him. Even walk ons would be getting advertisements though, so its not like whole companies probably wouldn't do teams.

Set a limit on it of course, give the revenue to the players, and then boom, no more worries about this needing to give university money to pay players. Let the ad space do it. Can't complain about taking it from the university then that way either.

Don't like. Surely people who care enough to follow a team are capable of finding the school's official twitter account.

I can't see the pic, but I presume it's the twitter handle thing I found with a google search.

I don't see any issue with having sponsors on team uniforms, but twitter handles are stupid.
