Willie Martinez and Mike Ekeler also made multiple stops in the state of Georgia to check on prospects across various classes that Tennessee has continued to keep tabs on. Martinez also made one stop in the state of Alabama to check on 2026 top-75 cornerback Zyan Gibson.

Tennessee has done a nice job with 2026 Gadsden (Ala.) CB Zyan Gibson for some time now. Gibson tells us this week he plans to visit the Vols in November for the Kentucky game. The top-50 CB has been to Rocky Top a couple of times already and is comfortable with Tim Banks and Willie Martinez. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and others are heavily involved here.

The top 50 recruits signed under Heupel according to composite rankings would be Nico, Mike Matthews, Jordan Ross, Hobbs(51). Obviously David Sanders will be in there too. Arian and Boo were just outside the top 100 along with Peyton Lewis.

Tennessee gets long-time cornerback target Zyan Gibson from the 2026 class back to campus this weekend, and it will be an important visit. Alabama is the team to beat here based on our intel, so the Vols have a chance to grab some momentum as they take on the Crimson Tide on the field on Saturday. Gibson has a strong bond with the staff, especially Tim Banks and Willie Martinez, and Tennessee is certainly in the mix for the standout cornerback because of it.

As we mentioned ahead of the Alabama game, Tennessee had a chance to make a strong impression on defensive back Zyan Gibson during that gameday visit, and the Vols made the most of the opportunity with their impressive defensive play. He returns to campus this weekend as Tennessee looks to continue to build some momentum here with the standout cornerback from Gadsden City (Ala.).
