"I have around 15 offers now, but I have a top six of
Florida State,
LSU,
Tennessee,
Kentucky,
Mississippi State and
North Carolina State," said Jones. "I have been talking to these schools, I like each one and I have visited most of them. "I have not visited Kentucky or North Carolina State yet, but I am working on getting to those schools too. All six schools are equal. I don't have an order, but I am might have one later. I am trying to commit later this summer."
Jones said all six schools are showing a lot of interest, but that Tennessee is the school he talks to the most. He has visited Knoxville once and he liked the energy. "The vibe was great at Tennessee and I loved the atmosphere. The fans there are amazing, there is a lot to do and I love that orange. I am planning to take an official visit there in the summer."
Florida State and LSU were at Phenix City recently and Jones visited each campus on spring break too. Those visits pushed the Seminoles and Tigers up his list. "I have been getting to know coach Clements a lot since the visit. He is a great guy, he is a coach that knows a lot about offensive line and he is always developing players. He recently watched me for a whole practice too, and he made me feel like he wants me.
"That atmosphere and vibe at LSU was amazing. I had a great time there and I got to spend time with coach Cregg. He has coached guys that play in the NFL, he is a smart coach and I like what he is doing with his players." Mississippi State is a school he visited early in the spring and the Bulldogs solidified their spot at that time. "Coach Johnson is an amazing coach and he is an easy guy to talk to," said Jones. "The campus is nice, the coaches are great and I just had fun there. That visit and coach Johnson make Mississippi State stand out."
Kentucky was one of the first schools to offer Jones and he sees the chance to play early there. North Carolina State was the first school in the ACC to offer and he has heard good things about Raleigh. The next step for Jones is scheduling visits. He is working on that. Then a decision is likely. "I do not have anything set yet for the summer, but I want to take at least three or four official visits. I am thinking Tennessee, LSU, Florida State and Kentucky right now. I am working to get up to North Carolina State too.
"I may cut my list down again, but right now, I really like these six schools "I really want to commit later in the summer. I want to get recruiting out of the way before my senior year. That is what I hope to do."
