Alabama is ranked #1 in the coaches poll and #3 in the AP poll. We are #8 and #6 in those polls.

If we win, will the fan base consider this a win vs. #1?

Which poll (AP or Coaches) is the poll that the media uses? Which one will CBS show besides Alabamas name?

Our Record Book records both polls in the game count against #1 ranked opponents. Saturday will be our 19th game against a #1. Our record against #1s is 2-16.

If BY plays it will be our 16th game against a Heisman winner. We're 4-11 against those guys.

Time to improve those #s.

Who knows but we would certainly get a Bama bounce out of it.

I would say 3 at the highest. No way they would put us in front of the Suckeyes and mange affected puppies.

Is it just me or does it kind seem like the media is kinda "over" Clemson at this point? They are ranked 4th and you just see nothing about them this year outside of their local media. Seems like the Big Orange renaissance has snuffed out the Tigers press.

I have said it before and will say it again, offense is sexy and brings eyeballs. The media is eating us up right now as the stories write themselves-perennial power fallen on hard times morphs into a Lambo basically overnight blah blah blah. If we somehow take down Bama Saturday every reporter worth his salt is going to be in Knoxville next week writing a piece. Crazy times man. 18 months ago, I never thought it would be like this again.

A better question might be… what quality wins has Clemson, OSU or UM had?


Clemson has wins against 3 teams with winning records. Two teams were ranked:

21 Wake (5-1)
10 NC State (5-1)
Furman (4-2) lol

OSU has wins against 2 teams with winning records. One team ranked :
5 Notre Dame (4-2)
Toledo (4-2) lol.

UM beat Maryland (4-2) lol.

all other wins were against teams with losing records and trash wins.

Which of these teams should be ranked above UT or UA based upon body of work?

None. UT,UG& UA are 1,2 & 3 based upon this years games completed.

So a win Saturday against Alabama is a win against #1 or #2.

I think we would move to #3 behind Georgia and Ohio State. Ohio State is on a bye so they'll most likely stay where they are and Georgia SHOULD blow out Vandy.
