Buckeyevol23, what part of Dayton are you from? My girlfriend is from Centerville...

It seems strange they would be starting so soon, but it seems they just bumped back the first day of classes to the 11th instead of the 6th.

Are they on the quarter or semester system? Anybody know? When I went to school we were on the semester system and I seem to remember the spring semester starting about mid jan.

I would assume they're still on semesters. My sister is a grad (yeah I know) and she probably would've mentioned something to me if they changed it recently.

My mom lived in Centerville then Troy when she was growing up. I hate that part of Ohio. haha

Anyways, cool for Bama students. I like the idea.

Isn't the main "argument" against a playoff the amount of class time that will be missed. Doesn't make sense that all day of classes for an entire student body be cancelled just because 100 or so "student" athletes are playing a game in Pasadena at 8 PM.

If the Presidents were really concerned about class time, these damn bowl games would end on January 1 like the good old days, instead of sometime the second week of January.

College football is a freaking joke.

Is it that big of a problem? It would be the least productive day imaginable anyways, might as well give them the day off.

I have to disagree with Travis on this one...
Me too, obviously. Maybe he writes pretty good stuff most of the time, but he really let his homerism get the best of him in this piece. Ripping a UT rival is one thing, but he should only do it when it's justified. Besides, he's tyring to make a mountain out of a mole hill. To anyone other than some rival fans of Bama, those who'll blindly lap up that kind of "journalism" (I use the term loosely), he succeeded only in exposing himself as homerific and classless.

I doubt those were going to be the most productive days of class anyways... Just let the student body enjoy this. Bama did nothing wrong.
