I'm curious how this will effect ticket prices, coaches salaries etc for the future because honestly College football is going to have to earn its fans back. I'm not blaming them for canceling at this point that seems certain. However I am blaming them for taking advantage of their fan bases with ticket prices etc. Especially here at UT we're paying out the ass for a mediocre at best product.

I think it’s possible we see a seismic shift overall. Everything is on the table from economics to another major realignment where there are 4 super conferences. One thing is for certain, the sport needs a united governing voice for all the major conferences. This garbage where the B1G went rogue this week and cancels all OOC games without discussing with anyone needs to stop. Their immediate overreaction to the IVY League was unnecessary given the date. However, if anyone was going to pull that it would be B1G with their typical attitude.

This is true, I'm not advocating for the season to be canceled but I think it's all but certain we're headed that way. If that's the case I hope the NCAA crumbles because they're absolutely dog sh!t

One thing some people can't grasp is that deaths are a "lagging indicator" of the virus, not a leading one. In other words, people get sick first, then they die. And those deaths can happen weeks after the initial infection.

As measures taken early started the work some woefully ignorant people started demanding we end the measures in question. The net result was a huge spike in infections and, in time, another increase in deaths. By early July deaths were down to 200 per day. That is still 200 unnecessary deaths but well below earlier levels.

But since deaths have been rising again as Republican states are plunged into the depths of the pandemic entirely of their own making. Instead of 200 per day the recent rate has been 800 deaths per day. All because some brain dead individuals refuse to wear masks and protect others. They keep asserting they don't believe the medical experts because some clown on the internet told them otherwise. The net result is their stupidity and lack and concern is spreading a disease. Sure, it kills them frequently, but it is also spread to innocent people who are trying to do the right thing.

The core principle of libertarianism is don't violate the rights of others to life, liberty or property. Any libertarian refusing to wear a mask is violating the first and putting the lives of others at risk. That doesn't make you pure, in my mind, it makes you a criminal just as bad, if not worse, than all the Communists you hate who want to take your property. Property is derivative right from life, liberty is a derivative right from life. Life is the core principle of libertarianism and that means respecting the lives of others.

If you aren't wearing a mask you aren't respecting the lives of anyone and that makes you a fraud.

I actually got cussed and called a sheep today for wearing a mask in Walmart, I was trying to be respectful of the rules. Told the guy "ill bet you 100 dollars to your double wide that I'm far more conservative than you are, sheep."
