Not sure if this deserves a thread but I think it is never too often to show my hatred for Alabama. Today on ESPN I saw a headline and story that talked about the Tuscaloosa area that was ravaged by a Tornado this summer. I feel sorry for that area and the people who were devastated by the tornado. But I'll be damned if I somehow pass that empathy on to the Alabama football team. ESPN seems like they want to make the Alabama football team an underdog because of the damage done to Tuscaloosa.

I'm with you on the "I feel bad for the people of Tuscaloosa, but I still hate Alabama football" sentiment, but I don't think ESPN is really trying to make them an underdog since they're ranked #2

sometimes I think if we just ignore these type of threads, they will just disappear, but someone always ruins it... :ermm:

I work throughout the state of Alabama. My job sometimes involves inspecting structure prior to demolition for environmental hazards such as asbestos. I have spent numerous hours in tornado ravaged towns and while the decimation in Tuscaloosa is awful, there are so many towns in AL that have not recieved the same help or consideration because of a lack of ESPN or other media attention. Honestly Tuscaloosa was not even the worst hit imo. It only makes me more bitter toward the UA for the amount of attention and financial assistance they were able to bring into Tusc while allowing many of the small towns to literally just lay in ruins. 62 tornadoes ravaged AL that day. I have been in 10 of them and although i dont want to compare damage, as all of them were seriously destroyed, it infuriates me that UA continues to get all the recognition as ground zero. There were 3 small communities outside of tuscaloosa that are not even mentioned where there is literally nothing left, yet you cant name one of them.

I hate their stupid yellow hammer, red elephant and hounds tooth hats. The team in Tuscaloosa has absolutely no redeeming qualities.

Agree. The northern half of Alabama looked like a war zone after the 27th of April, not just Tuscaloosa. Not to mention the other states who were affected. I was one of the lucky ones in that nobody I know was killed or even hurt and my property was not completely destroyed but many were not so fortunate.

One thing you can definitely count on is every home game Bamer has, the cameras will always - at some point - show those 2 skanks in houndstooth fedoras acting like a couple of giggle-snorting sorority pledges at their first football game

Last night, at a bar, a group from Columbus, OH came in to shoot some pool. One dude was decked out in Ohio State gear. I was orange clad as can be. Of course we started talking football. That guy got into the whole OS/Michigan rivalry and said that SEC football doesn't have any rivalries that are that intense. I decided to let him know about Auburn/Bama, Georgia/Florida, Arkansas/LSU, of course Tennessee/Bama, and more. He said that we just don't get as crazy as they do. I guess he is right in one aspect. Most of us SEC folks have enough sense not to burn opposing fans cars and push them down stadium stairs. I told him to make sure he is back in town in the beginning of October. We can show them what a real rivalry is all about without all of the idiocy.

its like houndstooth will confer some class on them cheatin sob's.... houndstooth represents a 150 man roster led by the cheatinest (that's a word) coach of all time.... i do respect the man for playing against us with a broken leg tho...

I hope you continue to hate, because that means UA and AU still have a winning record for all time over ut. Thanks

As Bammer starts to dominate, expect them to get some added love from the press....not unlike LSU a few years ago. Bammer will be the press-darling of the SEC and money bags will become a folk hero, he may well get another statue.

I feel for the people of Tuscaloosa too. Wife and I sent checks to the Red Cross there to help out and to the Greeneville, TN victims too.

I don't hate Bama because to me (speaking only for myself without offense intended for anyone) it denotes small mindness based on the fact they beat us a lot. I want Bama to have very competitive football teams year in and year out so we beat them when they're good and not just down. Any other attitude than this to me means cowardice, a deep sense of inferiority, and no sense of pride and honor.

That being said, this is how I think we should handle every Crimson Tide team.
