It was actually confirmed she was screaming at him and slapping him first before he just pushed her down.

They both got off on like 500in bail/bond w/e it is

Get them both some anger management counseling, and possibly some couple and individual counseling as well.

No reason to get on a high horse about this (not that anyone has yet).

Saban says there will be no punishment. Reason? Upshaw is a good kid - in fact he's one of the best kids on the team. Interesting.

After reading Saban's statement in the article, I have no problem giving him the benefit of the doubt. Coaches need the ability to handle these situations the way that best serves justice and the kid (notice I said kid, not player).

hold on.
Saban said this is as fine a young man as we have in the program.........
During the incident the officer said Upshaw grabbed his girlfriend "by the back of the neck and hair with his right hand and pushed her downward."

salt of the earth.
hope my daughter ends up with a great guy like that.

You're leaving out the fact where it said appeared to grab. Plus you left how how she started it and hit him first. Hell, her own FATHER said she was to blame and couldn't put anything on Upshaw.

Pushing a girl while shes going off on you and hitting you is hardly anything worthy of a suspension when her father is saying shes to blame.

What's with Alabama players always getting arrested?

Uhh...wait...nevermind.

So, there are two possibilities here.

1. You are taking a subtle jab at your own team, which has had many arrests (24?) in the last 3 or so years.

2. You are taking a jab at Tennessee, who has had problems with players getting arrested in the past, but are no where near the "24 in the last 3 years" standard of Florida, and in fact haven't had a problem since our new coach was hired, and in a about year overall.

I am hoping it's option 1, because otherwise you're being an ass.

Good God man, cut me some slack. It was a jab at my own team. They have no excuse for the arrests.
