This is off the charts. I've always thought something was strange down there. Their players are "huge". Saban is going to pay their S&C coach $500,000 to keep him from leaving for Georgia. Unreal.

Obviously he has been an effective coach but I watched a documentary featuring him and his voice is so annoying it was hard to listen.

The S&C coach is the second most important guy on any staff. This is a major win for Saban, because Cochran and Smart are really close.

How long do you expect Saban to stay at Bama?? I see him leaving within 3 years. I would bet that Cochran goes to UGA after that happens.

Yeah. I'd say two or three more years.

For them it's chump change. Winning generates revenue and lots of it.

A top-flight strength coach is worth his weight in weights. Ohio State & Alabama are among the strongest teams over the past few years. So was Florida under Meyer. Our guys look & play physical too. Maybe our SC needs a raise. Way to set the market Scotty 👌.

Shannon Turley at Stanford is the best in the country. Apparently Harbaugh offered him a ton of money last year and he said no.

How many think the value in these guys is partially in their ability to be discrete or offer guidance on supplements? Always been curious if that side is handled entirely outside programs or with some knowledge internally. We all know it happens.

I suspect that's a huge part of the job....off the books obviously

Stanford has been a physical group. So has Michigan State under Dantonio. The strength coach is with the team year round, making him more important than anyone on staff save the head coach. John Stuckey and crew were a big part of Fulmer's success.

The real question is, what direction do you see them going for his replacement? I always just assumed Kirby would take over after Saban. Bama can't exactly go for an up and comer after Saban. Snake an established NCAA coach, or poach a NFL guy?

if smart has success at UGA (wins an SEC) i would say they might throw the bank at him.
