Alabama loses top LB

Bama's going to have to score a lot of points this year. Besides being our best player, Moses was the QB of the defense. There is no one at ILB who has ever taken a meaningful snap.

It the curse of Butch Jones. Trust us, we know. That’s two starting LBs out for the year right?

Yep. And while it's funny to point to Butch, this feels exactly like 2017, when we lost 2 starting LBs for the season by halftime of the first game. By the end of the season, there was only one LB on the entire 2 deep that saw action in all 14 games. It used to be our strongest unit, but the LB rotation has been an absolute nightmare for 3 years now. You're better off living in the shadow of Chernobyl than playing LB for Bama.

Counting the 12 regular season games that Moses and McMillon will each miss this year, Bama LBs have combined to miss 73 starts since 2017.

Another 5 * will step in and have a stellar season.

This is an injury that can actually hurt them. And by "hurt" I mean it might make a difference in a very close game against a very good offense. Outside of Tua, Moses is probably the guy they'd least like to have go down.

Remember when Eddie Jackson went down for them in 2016? Their pass defense, which had struggled in some spots up until then that year, wasn't quite exactly the same after that. It didn't matter until the Clemson game, who beat them for the title.

That's the difference between it happening to bama and happening to us.
While there is no doubt they have more talent, you just can’t replace these two LBs they lost. This guy was a first round pick and maybe top 5 draft pick. Kind of like saying if eric berry went down next man up

Hate it for them...but not really.

Hate it for the player. I hope he recovers in time to keep his NFL prospects alive.

As for the effect on the Bama team, #SorryNotSorry. I’m guessing that they still have the refrigerator full of replacements.
