Alabama offers Scholarship to a 14 year old

I'm sorry, but I think that's the stupidest thing ever. To judge a boy that may have hit puberty before others playing football against boys who may have just barely hit puberty is ridiculous.

I mean, this kid very may well be a star, but there is NO way to tell that right now, I don't care what his 40 time and vertical jump is.

But whatever, I guess you'll take whatever edge you can get. It'll just really stink for that kid if he gets into high school, can't make it as a top recruit, and Bama pulls that scholarship. I just don't think this stuff needs to happen. At least wait until after their freshman year of high school.

I'm afraid this is the future of recruiting with the new anything goes rules that are coming into place. It's just going to get embarrassing.

That is hilarious. But it's also why I say it's ridiculous to offer kids like that. If you grow faster than other kids in middle school, you're going to have a better ability most likely. I mean, how can you REALLY judge a kids ability based on this? He's just bigger and faster than the other kids, who once they grow may be just as big and just as fast if not more?

He's athletic, no doubt about it. I honestly don't see a problem with it. The kid has potential.

Kiffin did this when he got the USC job. Why didnt this issue come up when LSU first offered the kid. Bama gets involved and now there is a big issue and the story title only mentions bama but of course they throw LSU in there when you read it. Pretty pathetic, imo.

The media obviously hates bama. They just haven't had a fair shake the last couple of years.
