Considering they just came off a National Championship and seeing how the momentum in the SEC has all but shifted from FL to their direction, their class is somewhat of a disappointment don't you think?

Especially considering they had an opportunity to close with some big time recruits but really missed on all but Kouandjio and I guess Menzie.

Missed on:

Shon Coleman
James Stone
Calvin Smith
Gabe King
Christian Jones
K. Allen (Decommited for Cal)

did I miss any others?

The only one they missed on was Allen.

Stone would have been theirs long ago but they slow played him and got Arie = Stone being a Vol.

They did just fine, considering their past 2 classes were the overall #1s both years, they really didnt have a whole lot to really worry about.

Dont need a #1 class to win the BCS. Just look at our 2007 class ranking for proof.

Well, it didnt help us but the last few National Champions have all had one thing in common, at least 1 top recruiting class, Bama had 2.

I am really impressed with how Florida is finishing. Must be some good selling points. Like the guys on ESPNU said with all the coaches shifting going on, I hope Urban does come back for those recruits who he told he was coming back in the fall.

ehhh, yall aint gonna like me saying this but,

Bama doesnt have the holes that Florida has to fill. Without googling their roster stats, I'd say Bama is still pretty young for the most part. Florida was much older this year, and they lose guys left and right to the NFL long before they are even close to graduation.

Florida's class is going to over shadow Bama's pretty easily if you ask me, much like Texas will to the rest of the Big 12. More holes, more to go after.

the fact that they are already loaded sure helps.

if one 5th rated class is the price of a nation championship, then im game.

they needed to get an OG which Arie isn't. Saban and staff are probly more upset about missing on Stone than Coleman.

I hope CUM leaves right after today and doesnt come back until middle of next year and all those kids feel abandoned and they have a horrible class next year. I wish no good will upon the gators.

Bama landed two excellent OGs, Austin Shepherd and Chad Lindsey, both early enrollees, as well Darius McKeller who greyshirted from the 2009 class. Bama also landed Wilson Love (younger brother of 2008 5-star OL signee Tyler Love) who is listed as DL, but may end up on the OL.

Bama likes to have at least some OL that can play all of the OL positions. Kouandjio and Stone are ones who project that way.

Bama wanted Kouandjio the most, Stone second and Coleman third if Kujo or Stone didn't come through. Y'all know the deal with Stone. Great get for UT. Coleman almost flipped to Bama, but in the end remained with AU. He wanted to play at Bama a lot, but was also attracted to the easier path to earlier PT available at AU. Can't really fault him for his decision.

Arie Kouandjio's younger brother Cyrus may end up ranked as one of the top 2011 OLs and is a Bama lock 100%. :dance2:

It would have been great icing on the cake to get Stone or Coleman, but in all honesty I'm not disappointed at all with the 2010 OL class. Bama has good OL depth and maintained it with the new OL signees.

Let me add that UT ended up with super OL class! Much needed. Congrats! :good!:
