Without derailing the thread, i believe her comment was indicative of her non-traditional American views and quite possibly a sympathizer to our enemies abroad, but that is pure speculation at this point.

After 18 years, the dynamics of the operation have changed, for example, ROE, military and political strategy, increase among insurgents, etc. Following AOC's lead in 2001 would have left the door wide open to additional targets on US soil and abroad had the US decided to have a limited role or even stay not involved.

All is not lost over there.
