Any else think it would be neat to have an All-American All-Star game for the college game? Would love to see some of these stars play together/against each other after the season.

Bet it would be competitive, gritty and fun to watch. The women’s game is where it’s at right now.

I’ve always thought that would be neat! Or an All Conference type of tournament!

I love the idea! There would inevitably be some of the top seniors who couldn't join in the fun because WNBA training camp starts 22.5 minutes following the NCAA Final, but maybe the all-stars could be players who are juniors or younger. I suppose they could make an exception the very first year and allow whichever deserving seniors would be available and not reporting to camp, but then after that first year restrict it to juniors or younger.

The men have the Reese's All-star game during the tournament. It is made up of players from schools not in the tournament. I went to one in Atlanta. It was a good game and there were a couple of players that had a minute or 2 in the NBA.

Maybe there's a market for it that I just don't see.

Back in the day, All-Star basketball games were entertaining because they provided individual players a venue in which to show their full capabilities (shooting, passing) that team offenses of the era would not allow.

Then Pete Maravich brought his all-star style of play to regular season games--with mixed success. But by the '90s coaches (really, the league, goaded by ESPN) allowed players to put their full array of skills on display (even when it diminished the quality of team play).

All that to ask...
What entertaining shooting and passing skills do female players possess that they're not exhibiting during regular play?

Isn't the entertainment niche of the ladies' game to present the beauty of basketball when good fundamentals are displayed in the absence of the vertical dimension?

I remember in Pat's day setting down young, male players in front of the TV and telling them, "Watch! This is the game you will someday play--not Dr. J or Jordan defying gravity around the hoop, or whipping passes around, at will, as a 6'9" point guard! Watch and learn what you see here, and aspire to do it as well as the Lady Vols."

At least a skills competition would be fun!

Three point contest could be awesome! But I'll bet many of the best shooters wouldn't even be starters on their own team.

That could be fun--each team putting forth their best 3-point shooter in a contest to open the conference tourney, then the conference tourney winners meeting in a series of national shoot offs.

I'm sure there are sponsors who would love to attach their name to it.

The last College All-Stars football game was played in 1976. Super Bowl Champions Pittsburgh Steelers defeated The All-Stars 24-0. Don't miss it.
