Our 2014 recruits are staying strong and staying committed to this coaching staff. That's the kind of commitment to this program that we need.

I love Tennessee. I have said that this season is a success regardless if we beat Vandy or not. However after what I witnessed this past Saturday, I am not so sure anymore.

The absolute ineptness of the offense was more than troublesome. We need SEC caliber personnel. I am not talking about Butch, but more about the assistants.

I have learned that just because you're critical of Tennessee and hold them accountable doesn't mean you're not a fan. It means you're upset, tired of losing and tired of the same old excuses.

Some fans are just not so delusional and weird to post the lyrics to Rocky Top or talk about how they "eat sleep and poop orange turds" after losing for the 2nd yr in a row to friggin Vanderbilt.

If you're looking for positives, the win over South Carolina and the recruiting success this year to date would both qualify as positive signs, in my opinion.

I agree with all of that except the part about the 70s. This is worse. In fact, this has been the worst 5 year span in Tennessee Football History......and second place is not even close.

Tennesse had not had back to back losing seasons since the early 1900s. Now, they have had four consecutive. Next week, the Vols have a very good shot at losing their 8th game of the year. That has never happened.

Be sure and send Mike Hamilton a thank you card this week.

I agree. This recruiting class and a lot of the corny gimmicks have kept a lot at bay until know. I have no doubt he will have a better roster in the future but I have many in regards to this staff being any better than 8 wins in this league given its current make up.

I don't see any staff turnover at this point unless they leave on their own and that's not gonna happen.

Butch's tenure here will be defined by his ability to release staff members and hire better ones. The longer that takes the shorter his leash will get.

Those are positive signs but that still don't mean Butch Jones is going to win. I like Butch , just don't think he is going to win with Jancek and Bajakian (sp) . There has been bad coaching all year all the way around.

Do you not understand that we get upset, criticize, and complain because we actually do care? Honestly, to me it seems like the ones that sit back, smile, and cheer for ineptness are the ones who should have their fan card checked.

This is much worse than the 70s. Some of Johnny Majors' teams had losing seasons, but the players weren't completely inept, unprepared, undisciplined and unmotivated. Last night was shameful. This is a new bottom for UT football... and it may not even be the bottom.

Sadly, I agree with this. We've reached bottom dweller status - something I've never experienced and certainly never thought I'd see out of UT. Losing to Vandy. Again. And in Neyland. :blink:
