Hey guys,

Didnt spot any topics on the American Le Mans series on here...

Its my favourite series of the many that I watch.

Can't wait for the season to start, I hope Corvette come back stronger and put up a better fight to team RLL.

Also, it looks like there could be quite a decent LMP2 field this year finally, since 2008 LMP2 has been decemated and I hate to see it. Just wish Lowes Fernandez would return as I loved the look of the ARX 01d is the Lowes colours.

Anyone going to any rounds?

This series got a little boost from Newman Haas and Conquest joining up, but Grand Am will takeover the American sportscar scene in a couple of years. Big Daddy Don is hemorraging assets, and I don't see this "TV" deal that they have with ESPN paying dividends at all. Flying Lizard and Risi are showing signs of jumping ship, and the LMPC class is dwindling.

It will get regenerated. Scott Atherton is a notably intelligent man unlike Patrick Peter of the ELMS. Sebring and Petit are big enough to attract good entries. The recent state of series meeting showed good signs for the future.

The lizards would be foolish to leave what is the most competitive GT field in the world at the moment. They are in for this year and I am sure that the allure of Le Mans will keep them going. The ALMS will not die, only multiply.

I watch ALMS races and enjoy them so I hope it continues. I was a course marshal at Mid-Ohio for many years, so I have seen several iterations of Prototype racing series. Starting with IMSA's Camel GT series and the Can-Am series. I saw Jackie Stewart, Jackie Oliver, Brian Redman, Mario Andretti, Mark Donahue, Peter Gregg, Geoff Brabham, Giles Villaneuve, Bruce McClaren, Denny Hulme, Parnelli Jones, Al Holbert, Al Unser,Sr, A.J. Foyt and many others race there.

Oops on the spelling. The Bruce and Denny show was all but unbeatable for awhile, though Jim Hall and Hap Sharp gave them some good runs in the Chapparels. Then Penske entered the 917/30 Porsches and basically killed the series. What an awesome car!

The 917 was a great car but to me, the best thing thats ever rolled out of stuttgart prototype wise has to be the RS Spyder or the 956... Both were just so so dominant. RS Spyder is my favourite P2 car of all time, it looked so sweet with the DHL sponsorship and with the ESSEX sponsorship over here.... To be able to see it win LM twice live is one of my favourite memories...

Enduro Porsches are some of the most beautiful cars in existence.

Can't really disagree... Big news from the grape vine. Pugeot may only field two card at LM and Audi may have 4!!!! Great news... Hate Pugeot with a Passion.

Only reason I'd root for a Pug is if Bert Baguette was in the cockpit. Dude is much better than anyone gives him credit for.

The addition of Virginia to the ALMS calendar seems really great. I have never seen any racing from there but the track really looks spectacular!
