"officials at Arkansas and Creighton declined to comment"

Says it all. If he was staying at Creighton they would comment.

He better hope Broyles remembers signing the contract.

Any ideas out there about how many interviews actually occured?

It depends on what you consider an interview. If Broyles calling someone, being laughed at, then moving on counts, probably 5.

Broyles had to at least go through the motions to appease the fans, but Altman, or someone of similar resume, is exactly what he expected to get.

you guys think Altman can recruit SEC-caliber athletes? The guys he recruited and coached at Creighton were not the most athletic kids in the world, just very smart and played intelligent..

The same could have been said for Pearl's athletes at Milwaukee.

Is that really the name that's gonna get the hog faithful excited?

As a UT fan, I do not like the combination of his coaching abilities and the talent they currently have in place. They will be much improved next season. A front runner in the SEC for sure.

Slick Rick says, Dana Altman was one of the guys mentioned for the Tennessee jobs the past two times it was open. Altman made Creighton into a Mid Major power. This is a good hire for Arkansas. He is a classy guy and a good coach.

Apparently not, according to Fox Sports, he just backed out of the deal. Wow, I bet Broyles is glad he is about to head out the door....Arky Athletics is imploding!

Hmm, maybe I can get that job!

this whole exercise has been a fiasco from the get-go, a demonstration of what happens when a coach or a.d. is permitted to linger decades beyond his eligibility for social security. i sure hope U.T. never gets itself in this kind of mess.
