in thinking that Hopson is not only nonexistent, but he is hurting the team and needs to be benched? He can't shoot, he can't dribble, he is lazy, and he pouts. I know we are thin beyond thin on the bench, but any type of an effort would be more than what Hopson is giving at this point? Any thoughts? Am I just way off base here?

Something is amiss with him and that building. I know he is hit or miss regularly, but in that building he is ice cold. I want him to succeed as much as the next person, but he's got to figure this thing out.

No you are not wrong in thinking as you do. I don't know if benching him is the answer but something has to start happenning for Scotty. And the sooner the better.

Not that it's an acceptable excuse, but the depth behind the basket is unique in this arena. It's not that deep, but it certainly looks it. To make it weirder, the depths are different on each end.

You are right, except that he is not lazy. You are way off base on that.

I agree that Bruce should consider bringing him off the bench (not "benching" him) and give the start tomorrow to Tatum. Tatum earned it today and Hopson did not. The added benefit is that it may take some pressure off of Hopson.

I guess since I do not know him personally I cannot say he is, in fact, lazy, but his lackadaisical attitude and play on the court certainly leads me to that conclusion. Maybe it's just his style, but it's very misleading at best.

Tatum was exceptional today and Bruce talked about how team has missed his leadership. Hopson is puzzling on the floor and Woolridge was ready to contribute again.

Hopson may not be lazy, but his defense looks that way. 3 times he did not get around a screen and his man scored. His body language needs an adjustment. If he screws up he drops that head and loafs back down the floor. He is a much better player than that and needs to step up against UK and show it.

Yeah I don't find him to be lazy, just disappointed his shots aren't falling right now with his family all in attendance. He'll get it together, he's a good player and even the best have consecutive off nights. They just get cold and have to work through it. He'll be fine, I just hope it comes to him tomorrow!

There was definitely a point where he was hurting the team today, IMO. I was very glad when Pearl sat him at one point, it was obvious that he was more of a hindrance than an asset at the time.

Agree. I think he will play well against KY because of the added crap he took when he signed with Pearl. Hopefully, his turnaround will be tomorrow!!
