I gotta give my local school some love this morning. The Chattanooga Mocs won the Carpet Capital Collegiate at The Farm on Sunday. That's rare air for a program financially strapped to the degree UTC's is.

Way to go Mocs!

UTC may be in the top-5 when the next computer-polls come out after the preseason No. 12 Mocs won the Carpet Capital on Sunday and knocked off 13 teams ranked in the top-30 along the way.
“A lot of people have been patting us on the back and said, ‘You’ve come so far and won this and that,’” said Guhne, who recently began his fourth season. “As a mid-major, you always feel like the little guy trying to keep up, and now I think we’ve show we can play with the big boys. We’ve got good kids, and I feel we can stay around for a while.”

As the golf ball left the elevated tee, Jaeger thought, “It’s perfect.”
Yet it was also a 240-yard par 3 playing 15 yards longer on a windy day. Even Guhne admitted, “I might have said we needed a hole-in-one, but inside I was probably just hoping for par.”
But the ball never wavered or waffled from its intended path and goal. It hit 10 yards below the hole, raced uphill and fell sweetly into the cup.
“I didn’t see it,” said Jaeger, “but I heard it. Then I lost it. I dropped my club. I couldn’t believe it.”

No. It is one of the clubs in Chattanooga. I believe it might be Council Fire. The Farm is in Dalton, GA

It is actually in Rocky Face, I have played it. Just thought that they might use it for a home course.
Council Fire is a nice course also.

The first tournament I ever played in college was at The Farm . . . from the back tees . . . in the rain . . . with a constant 10-20 mph wind. I think by the 7th or 8th hole I may have actually called out for my Mom.

A humbling experience, no doubt

Where did you play in College?
