Amazon's AI-powered cameras punish its delivery drivers when they look at side mirrors or when other cars cut them off, report says

Some Amazon delivery drivers are complaining that their performance ratings are being hurt by the monitoring system when they check their side mirrors or have to hit the brakes to prevent an accident after being cut off by another driver.

Even with these complaints, driver accidents are down significantly with the new AI camera monitoring system that tracks the drivers' heads, eyes, and acceleration and braking.

I have done a 180 on my Amazon habits. Used to love using Amazon. Now it is like Wal Mart, do all I can to avoid using them.

Checking your mirrors is a good driving habit. Sounds like Amazon trusted the programming of these cameras to someone who doesn’t drive.
