The thing is, with the help of Syrian occupation of the country for thirty five years, iranian and syrian support of hezbollah, most of the real Lebanese are hiding out in the mountains.

Reagan didn't really help things when he withdrew after 231 of our Marines were murdered while sleeping in their barracks, our embassy was bombed and our CIA station chief was brutally murdered. That emboldened these murderous bastages.

In effect muslim extremists elements, including arab/palestinian refugees, inflitrating shiite immigrants and other muslim elements have assassinated their way into control of Lebanon for all practical purposes.

The country of Lebanon has gone from a Christian majority that shared power to a beleaguered opressed minority in the past half century.
