I agree. Not just the way they build 'em, but their actions and all that as well. The boss on sons of guns is trying way too hard to be a hard ass and just comes off as a phony and jacka$$ to me.

Love seeing how this guy is keeping the art of gunsmithing alive, but he isn't cheap ($15,000 for one of his revolvers!).

I haven't caught the show yet and Paige is certainly cute but Rich doesn't have the best reputation with many of the locals. Google "rich wyatt" and douche to get you started.

Famously he once sold a gun to a female patron before the CBI check went through. When it came up with an issue where he couldn't give her possession of the weapon he then refused to give her a refund but would agree to sell it on her behalf for a commission. He eventually relented as this went public but you get the idea. Was also jailed at one point for some shenanigans in the divorce from a previous marriage.

Actually I've wondered if that's even legal. If a person can't clear the BGC (some of the reasons can actually be very benign, like a shared name with a felon) how can you have "sold" them the weapon (received funds) in the first place? The show may be very entertaining but I already knew who the guy was and a lot of it seems pretty sketchy.

There's a guy that I'd put up against Rich as a revolver smith any day right here in the back yard. (well, if you live around Knoxville) Google up Hamilton Bowen sometime.

Despite it being one of there most watched programs Discovery has cancelled the highly popular American Guns do to pressure from individuals/groups In wake of the Newtown shooting.

The show was reportedly between shooting schedules. No word yet on Discovery's other highly rated gun manufacturing show Sons of Guns.

Hopefully both American Guns & Sons of Guns (if also cancelled) gets picked up by another network such as Sportsman Channel or the Outdoor Channel or maybe CMT (who will debut a new show in late spring/early summer featuring Duane "Dog" Chapman aka Dog The Bounty Hunter after his A&E show was cancelled)
